Mass Effect 3 broke me worse than any real person ever could

Fuck you mass Effect 3....I LOVED YOU DAMMIT!
I refuse to download the Extended Cut because unlike most ME fans I got the ending. I was a soldier, I told everybody from game 1 I would do anything to stop the Reapers, and in the end I did. NOW, before you say "CHOICES WERE DISMISSED" or "You know what was Deus Ex Machina", no they weren't. Here's why: ...
You Sir have my utmost respect for what you posted and I'm glad there are people out there who accept Mass Effect 3 (and it's ending) for what it is... a damn good game. As I finished the game, I didn't hate the ending, I was more saddened by the fact that the story had come to a close. Never before has a game series moved me as Mass Effect did, and for that I thank Bioware and EA.

Anyway keeping in line with the topic KOTOR 2 was pretty up there for me but had a few gripes

- Story was pretty average
- Not enough auto saves (so many times I quit playing due to starting a whole sequence all over again Its safe to say I learnt my lesson from then on)
- "Boss battles" were ridiculously hard if you didn't have the right skills or members in your party.
- Speaking of boss battles some of them were poorly implemented (Darth Traya, lightsabres .....really?)
-Darth Nihilus's battle was underwhelming
- But by far the worst problem is that... and pardon my shouting THERE ISN"T GOING TO BE A THIRD GAME!!!

Oooh, this could be difficult... favourite games?
Sly series-
Hub worlds can be extremely irritating at times.
Combat is awkward in 2 and 3.
Platforming can be a bit iffy, but very rarely.
Cluttered gameplay (mostly in 3)

Beyond Good and Evil-
Controls a tad stiff.
The fact that you can't just roam around the entire world of the game after completion.

Super Mario Galaxy 2-
The first galaxy was an uninspired rip off of Galaxy 1.
The Fluzzard sections can be unresponsive.
Doesn't take any leaps for the Mario series as a whole.

Metroid Prime is a piece of shit.

The game is incredibly boring, the combat is ruined by the fact that you can lock onto targets, all the visors and powerups are gimmicky, it's easy to get lost. Way too much emphasis is put on really lame puzzles and tedious scanning for information.
The story is completely devoid of any meaningful dialogue and only features one human character. On top of all that even the exploration is watered down by all the backtracking that the game makes you do. Having to find all the artifacts towards the end is an utter chore and the closing cutscenes leave a lot to be desired.

Overall a terrible game that I could never recommend to anyone.

Megaman X5
Guns n Roses? Seriously?
If you get the ultimate armor then the game might as well throw you the ending screen
Zero's buster is fucking useless as all hell
Some of the platforming can get really annoying
The "Dark hold" is a horrible weapon that only serves to do that quickman rehash of a stage.
"Zero Virus"? Really bringing up the stakes there.
So in the end, after the sigma battle, X and Zero are badly damaged and Sigma fires a laser that goes through both of them, X is hunched over Zero's body as he dies and X passes out. You see what appears to be Dr.Light's ghost speak to the unconscious body of X telling him to rest and forget the bad memories as he gets repaired. you see the story 2 months later and X has apparently forgotten all memory of Zero but still uses his saber in combat.
Why can't the firefly weapon be easier to handle, especially when getting one the armor parts that require you to get work it like it was nothing
I still never found any use to the G-whatever armor, it protects from spikes but does barely anything
The falcon armor is next to broken with the Ultimate armor taking home gold.

Pokemon.
-Too easy. I remember back in Ruby, you'd get stomped at certain points, namely your rival under the bridge, or Whitney in GSC. They need to up the difficulty something desperate.

-Generation clones. Rattatta, Sentret, Zigzagoon, even though I love him, Bidoof, Patrat. Pidgey, Twaillow, Starly, Pidove, or whatever gen five's is. You could come up with useful Pokemon of interesting designs and types, not just more freaking rats and pigeons.

-Stupid amounts of legendaries. Mostly a gripe about Gen 4, but still somewhat applies to Gen 5.

-Download Pokemon. Fuck them. Fuck them so hard. Nintendo, let's face facts; as a company and organization, you rely very heavily on whatever little amounts of Nostalgia you can manage to hang onto after decades to sell incredibly similar games in concept to their predecessors. So why make it impossible to get every Pokemon in a game where that's part of the allure? You won't see a naturally caught Spiritomb in Platinum five or six years from now. Not unless people get together, and when you're marketing to kids, who really can't network effectively and work together, that's just stupid, and leaves people like me dissatisfied when I can't get Deoxys.

I would do this on Jak 2 since I have an entire 3+ pages on Word to explain why, but ALL TIME FAVOURITE, eh?

Okami.

It's already a rather long game, it wasn't really necessary to have a room devoted to fighting all the bosses again to pad it out -_-

...

...

That's all I can think of :D
Oh Daystar, that's not how you do it! Lemme try.

1. Game is FAR too easy. My first attempt took 67 hours. No deaths, rarely got stuck. Second playthrough I sped through it in half the time...without a walkthrough. Never died, rarely got to low HP, never got stuck. It's been well over a year since I played it. The game spoonfeeds you a bit too much sometimes.

2. Unskippable cutscenes (PS2/3 version), especially those over 15 minutes long, should be punishable by being fed to a yeti. NEVER DO THAT! I love the story but I don't want to see the damn story over sometimes. If you do a bead speedrun and skip all cutscenes, it takes about 4 hours to get to Blight. Too many damn words!

3. Don't fuck up with the PS2's perfect credit sequence (Wii/PS3). At least tell us why Reset isn't there for the PS3 version!

4. Framerate can be a bit choppy (PS2). Can be hard to see and react to what you're doing.

5. Boss rushes are bad and you should feel bad! You fight the Spider Queen's fight about 5 times in the game if you go for the bandits. Orochi you fight 3 times, and that's a long fight! Bayonetta was even worse with this, so I'm sure it must be a Hideki Kamiya thing.

6. Missable trophies (PS3) suck! I had to do that 4 hour speedrun to just meet a bloody enemy.

7. Final boss kinda came out of nowhere without any build-up.

Ok, I think I got all of them *dusts off hands*

KOTOR II shipped broken, it's a psychotically depressing side story to the first one that arguably goes nowhere, it's ending is only slightly better than that of ME3 in that in KOTOR II at least there's no confusion (Everyone is clearly fucked), all the relationships you can have are creepy as shit, and I think it has a sexual fetish for slavery as well as some troubling notions on the subject of "Teaching".

Despite all of this, and somethimes because of it, it stands as a monument not just for story telling in games, but for all tragedy in the great theater of life.

-You have to touch every coin because can't tell which ones are the red coins until you touch them
-Some of the bonus levels are just nightmarish
-BABY MARIO IS AN ANNOYING FUCK!
Actually the Red Coins have slight redish tint. If you're playing the GBA version its harder to see but if you know what you're looking for its obvious in the original SNES one.

OT: Oblivion

-Main story line is painful
-Combat. Nuff said.
-NPC staring
-Become Archmage of the Mage's Guild after only knowing Fireball
-Becoming lord of everything has little to no impact on the world or your treatment
-Companion AI is abysmal and they have little to no character.

Planescape Torment:
-Combat
-Graphics

Tales of Symphonia. I love it to pieces, I truly do. It's one of my favorite RPGs of all time.

But...

Good lord, it's not a pretty game. Even for the Gamecube era, its graphics look dated, most likely due to the anime-esque art style. And really, Tales of Symphonia, you should give hints to how dark your story is going to end up being, because far too many people dismiss you for being stereotypical and cheesy because of the beginning storyline (that ends up deconstructed).

And unskippable cutscenes? Really? It's a story based game, sure, but that doesn't mean that I want to sit through the same cutscene six times over because I did the boss battles out of story order, and am now facing a boss that severely outclasses me.

And some of your plot elements come out of nowhere. Why does the final boss have a second form that makes him look like an evil egg robot? Why does the main character suddenly gain heretofore unmentioned superpowers? Who knows...

...Okay, that's about all I got. I wouldn't say Tales of Symphonia is my "all time favorite game," because I've got a lot of games that could fall into that category, depending on my mood. But it's certainly up there.

Vampire the Masquerade bloodlines

-Completely broken game until you install 20 patches many of them fan made.
-seduction is completely lopsided in usefulness
-large chunks of the skill tree are poorly balanced
-despite having plenty of interesting non combat ways to solve some missions sooner or later you have to fight in most of them

Unreal gold

-graphics are dated to be generous
-the new weapons in the expansion are overpowered, ugly and uninspired applies equaly to the new enemies
-power amp sometimes sucks the difficulty out of it
-that poorly places unlimited flashlight right at the end
-dummied out rifle secondary
-stupid invincibility shield on the mercs

Baldur's Gate series

-2nd AD&D rules are about as permeable as a brick wall. Baldur's Gate II came with a wire-bound book.

Skyrim

-Easily broken
-Takes up a ton of hardrive space
-Silliness from the other games is back with a vengeance.
-Interchangeable companions.

Starlancer

-Hard as balls final mission
-Loser friendly AI
-If you cock up a mission, YOU are the only one who gets chewed out, often for stuff that wasn't your fault
-Blind Fire is so overpowered there's no reason to take a ship that doesn't have it.
-Can become unwinnable. Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't deliberately designed to be so.

Far Cry 2

-Barebones story
-Stupid ending
-The entire country hates you.

Skyrim:
Broad...but so very shallow
Lots of tacked on elements that dont mean much
Lots of places where they clearly decided to let you do squat (Riften either join the thieves...or do nothing)

I love the game, but....I fully admit its not nearly as deep as Dragon Age Origins, The Witcher, etc.

Assassin's Creed 2:

-TOO. GODDAMN. EASY. Holy crap.
-Fighting is a bore.
-The boss fight is one of the stupidest I've seen.
-Ezio's lovely glitching at the worst times.
-Using Leonardo's flying machine for only one mission. Really?
-The renovation system (that only gets worse in ACB).

*sigh* But alas, I have a soft spot for ACII. It's the first of the series I played, the revenge story always gets me, and I just love traipsing around Renaissance Italy. ^_^

Sonic 3 & Knuckles-

+ Great platforming, good speed and flow to the whole affair.
+ One of the best OST's of all time, to be expected, even the worst Sonic games have magnificent soundtracks.
+ Looks great to this day.
+ 3 characters with different playstyles and branching levels built around that

- It's too damn easy most of the time
- Knuckles doesn't jump high enough!
- Hydrocity was incredibly frustrating as a child (though these days I love it).
- Fuck Sandopolis Act 2.
- Seriously, fuck Sandopolis Act 2.
- Some of the bosses are fairly obnoxious, the big hand can pretty much wipe you out if you're unlucky with his pattern.
- The special zones from Sonic & Knuckles are generally not as fun as the ones from 3 on it's own, requiring very awkward jump timing.

That's all, I can't really rag on it much because it's just soooooo fucking good.

Borderlands.

1st minutes of gameplay: This shit is AWESOME!

5 minutes of GP: This shit is hard.

10 minutes of GP: This shit is boring. Oh, and the DLCs don't help at all.

Head Over Heels

- The middle section of Book World is a convoluted shambles.
- The doughnuts are a pain in the arse to use (since Head's naturally on top so he'll just shoot over the top of everything), and nearly pointless when you do use them since every puzzle that can be solved with doughnuts can be just as well solved with timing.
- I get the idea of the reincarnation fish system and the technical limitations that necessitated it, but yargh it's ridiculous for a game like this.
- Safari is a difficulty spike; even just getting into the crown room is a hair-puller, never mind solving it.

Apart from that, my favourite game ever.

Oh, right. Reminds me.

Baldurs Gate 2
-The Kits aren't really an improvement on the base classes, outside of rare situational use.
-No available pure rogue NPC
-The wingless Avariel is just dumb.
-Bringing back NPCs from the first one, but having them non-recruitable.
-Irenicus has inexplicable offscreen victories over people who should be able to handle him. Just to add on dungeons to the game.
-The whole Underdark chapter is unrelated filler.
-Throne of Bhaal just makes you straight up overpowered.
-All of ToB is one giant boss run, with barely any characterization or story.
-The final villain reveal is pretty obvious.
-The ending boils straight down into one of those boring binary moral choices .
