Metroid Prime. Oh, erm, it follows the same format as other metroid games, samus's movement controls were, erm, hard to master. I loved EVERYTHING ELSE about it. That's all I got. Oh yeah, and the repetition in pokemon. Gotta love it though.

Baldurs Gate II:
Graphics are more than a little outdated. A multitude of quests and just hints throughout the game that could have been tied together have not been, there are incredibly weird dungeons with incredibly high leveled stuff that aren't tied to quests at all (suspecting deadlines, but I'm not sure. That's all I can think of right now.

Fallout 3: some of the caves/interiors of buildings are far too dark, some of the children's voices/atitudes are incredibly annoying and it's impossible to make up an interesting pre-game background for your character... *spent first 18 years of life living in tin can*

Well two main ones here.
FF9, dodgy graphics even for that era. Slightly retarded character designs (they sorted that out with dissidia). And it was far far too easy. Otherwise my favourite FF game, fuck yeah Vivi.
On to the next one
Panzer Dragoon Saga
It ended, it didn't get noticed, it's really rare now, it was on the saturn.
The graphics whilst immensly better than FF7 were still rather glitchy, it was also rather easy for a lot of it.
Also the fact that it copied FF 13's battle system, not good ¬____¬

The fact that the cake wasn't a lie, made Ratman an unreliable source, causing myself to have to do research upon who this man was. The cake contained too much rhubarb. Chell looked a bit funny. GLaDOS wasn't much of a fight. They delayed Portal 2 till 2011.

Paper Mario 2... ... ... ... I can't think of anything.

MOTHER 3... Well, the Ultimate Chimera being completely unfightable annoyed me. But an instant death is an instant death.

Portal... I don't know what to call that part after chamber 19. And that really is the only thing I can say I didn't like about it.

Phoenix Wright series... Some of the answers to puzzles are a little too obscure.

The horse in Shadow of the Colossus would do a total 180-turn whenever you came into contact with anything resembling a wall. And by "resembling a wall," I mean "higher than a gumdrop." This is especially hard when you're in a tight space and want to do a ninety degree turn, because it has to be running to turn, so you hit the wall, 180, hit the wall, 180, making slight progress each time. Also, not enough temples or castles or buildings to climb around and explore.

Oblivion- Horses were poorly designed and should have been cut. More variety in armor/weapons would have been nice. The entire idea of the leveled enemies was horribly done, which led to a difficulty curve that was all over the place. Many of the spells were essentially useless. Companion AI was garbage (and Companion NPC's didn't level up with enemies).

Red Dead Redemption- Some missions seem like padding that doesn't go anywhere and have no relevance to the story (Mexico). Controls are unimproved from GTAIV. Regenerating health makes items like Medicine useless. Money is too easy to obtain and there is nothing really worth spending it on.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory- Stupid AI.... Um..... too linear? I'm sorry, it's a hard game to critique since it pretty much set the bar for stealth games and hasn't been topped yet.

So mass effect 2

....huh

....wow, this is awkward

I would complain about resource mining but with the recent patch it's become much more bearable

I would complain about the loss of the Inventory from Mass 1, but I preffer the new model

I would complain about the cover-based shooter aspect, but in all fairness Mass effect 2 intigrates cover into combat better than any other game bar Gears of war so...

erm, I kinda dislike how the new Normandy doesn't look as stealthy as the last one.
Yeah, that's all i got...
Hey, i know I'm a fanboy, at least i own up.

Half-Life 2's weapon selection is pretty stale; the only ones that are really any fun to use are the gravity gun, which I honestly can't really complain about, and the Combine Standard Issue, which doesn't have enough ammo available to use as much as I'd like. I really don't feel like I'm in control of anything very powerful when I'm using the majority of these devices.

Quest for Glory commits one of the cardinal sins of gaming: it has a walking death scenario. That is not the sort of thing that should ever be in a video game.

Additionally, I don't see how people are having difficulty finding flaws with Deus Ex ? I want so badly to love it, but it just doesn't want me to. The animation is among the worst of any game I've ever played, lots of the voice acting is terrible, the sound design in general is terrible, and worst of all, the weapons and combat are profoundly unsatisfying. I feel like I'm using pop-guns when I'm in a firefight, and the AI is atrocious. These flaws have prevented me from ever getting any further than the Hong Kong section.

Let's see, my overall number 1 game? Legend of Mana. Hmmmm... I think I can do some justice while still making the top of my list.

For one, while the background art is fantastic being entirely crafted from watercolor it would have been a lot better if it was somewhat 3 dimensional. If it remained 2D, then I would have to say that there needed to be more backgrounds that were less repetitive and got you lost like in the Jungle and the Junkyard. They're all well crafted, but seeing the same picture over and over again seems really boring.
The animation of the characters seems a bit lazy at times, sometimes I can't even tell what particular emotion they're trying to get across.
The concept art for the boy character is REALLY girly. When I first played it I thought it was another girl.

Other than that the musical score is incredible, borderline epic. It really opens up the world and expands it to more than what appears to be a kiddy game. The variety of environments were enchanting to me and backgrounds are fantastic, like I mentioned before. The characters are a bit strange, but very charming and each of them has their own quirks even the small ones. The number of things you can do such as crafting and farming is kept simple enough that its complexity doesn't get in the way. Other than that, the last thing that makes it remain at the top of my list is that it's a reflection of my own nostalgia and traveling to different places with my family as a kid.
It is so rare to find someone who appreciates Legend of Mana, one of the msot underrated game of all times.

The Cons:
The game wasn't just obscure, sometimes it just didn't give any hint on how to do things. You can control anything in this game, and that's wonderful, but it felt like the game was TRYING to push people away from it. For instance, they never explained how the crafting worked, or how mana and weekdays affected the regions you were in. This meant that a guide was needed to really get through the most interesting features. Thus, it never appealed to as many gamers as it should, and got forgotten. Also, the Jumi storyline was filled with plotholes, and that's sad because it's also the story with the most potential. Finally, there was a way to make some weapons ridiculously strong, taking away all challenge from the game, and some pets were not well balanced.

All that being said, it is certainly one of the most unique game, and it's philosophical nature makes it even better. There was always something more to explore, to discover, and was one of these games that seems simple at first, but is in fact one of the most complex game on Earth. It has features that even modern day games can't even dream to have.

Max Payne 2.

It ended, I wanted it to be forever. Oh, and the drug sequences are slightly annoying when you're replaying it for the 10th time.
No.. really.. those get annoying? ;P

What about combat being really quite repetative with little variation, and the fact that I forgot how many times I reloaded after a fight I won just because I got shot a couple of times and didn't want to have to use some of my precious painkillers.

The story and atmosphere compensates many times though..

Splinter Cell Conviction: Very repetitive. Clear room, clear room clear room clear room clearroomclearroomclearroomclearroomroomroomroomclear. I love that game though. Very entertaining. It's also a little bit too easy on realistic.

Zelda Wind Waker has the very annoying Triforce Shard quest. Not only can it be terribly boring, but probably the least liked character, (in the West) Tingle, grubs for your money through it all. It's also extremely easy.
Now I know TP was made afterwards, but a kid should not be taking less damage than a teenager/adult would. Seriously, it's a lot harder to die and that removes the tension of possible death that keeps you focused.
