Alright, let's do Fallout 2.

Combat is a ***** with a large number of enemies because it takes ages to do their walking/fighting animations in between turns. You especially need to have patience with packs of wild dogs - every dog (of a pack of around a dozen) gets two attacks, and then another two if they get lucky. This is pretty annoying on its own, but if you're at a low level they can slowly tear you to shreds over a period of thirty seconds. You can't reload until they're done, either. Not cool.

Another gripe with combat is if you're fighting near the boundary of the map the enemy can sometimes flee off the screen, which makes targeting them impossible.

Baldurs gate 1&2

Great games but god dam if you wernt familiar with D&D that could be a steep learning curve. Ummm I cant really think of anything else that could be wrong with the games.
I played the first one a LONG time ago before I knew anything about D&D, all I can say was... Holy crap yeah it was... o.o;

I have one for Baldur's gate 2. I'm putting it in spoilers because not only is it kind of a long story, but it may contain spoilers...

My first play through it, I went to the little village where people have been disappearing by werewolves, a witch, bandits, whatever they thought it was.

Upon heading west a little bit, I lost 2 party members to a small group of bandits. "I can't have this before I start the quest!" I said. So I head back to Amn to restore my group, only to get a surprise attack by another group of bandits, only to find myself hauling some poisoned schmuck to the Harpers.

Upon arriving at the Docks, Yoshimo tells me that he needs to go visit the guild leader for the Shadow thieves, and that it wouldn't be wise to head elsewhere without doing so... Freak'n Aye, ok so I drop the guy off, and I screw up here.

I had forgotten that the map in BG2 labels important locations, BG1 did not do this, and I came straight from BG1 to this game. I did what I did best in BG1 and decided to enter random buildings to find the Thief Hideout.

Considering the location of the Harpers was in the bottom corner of the map, and the Shadow thieves guild was in the top corner, I made my way into the buildings between there. I ran into Xzar, but he can wait, for he was mean to my character in the first game.

Turns out I enter a bar, To which Jaheira gets poisoned... SON OF A!! Now I got this problem on my hands as well! The thing that irked me the most was, the next building I checked, was the thieves guild. -,-;

I quickly accept the deed to work for the Shadow Thieves, seemed like good pay, and at this point I thought. "Man talk about character development." For the reason that in the first game my character was somewhat of a good person, in BG2 he started becoming more and more of a dill-hole, doing both good and bad things for money.

Anywho... I head to the governmental section to find some clues on this mofo that poisoned my druid. Find nothing... Grr-face'd and went to the slums.

Lucky for me, I accidentally stumbled into the guys home... What wasn't lucky was I still only had 4 members of my team still alive. It was a horrible battle, but being somewhat of a strategist, I pulled through.

I kill the guy, the curse is released. I can finally resurrect my fallen brethren and get back to the original quest I was supposed to do. Yeah ok!!!

Upon doing a quick rest after the resurrection.. Nalia started getting really antsy about that troll problem of hers...

It was atleast 4-5 days worth of me playing this game before I finally got back on tract, and all I can say is... WTF BG2!?

I loved every minute of it! xD

Lets talk Final Fantasy.

FF7: I would much rather have you kill off Cait Sith or Cid instead of Aeris. There was no point to it! Also, if I'm not mistaken the final boss' difficulty is based off of my character's level. What if I'm level 99?

Even these seem petty. I can't think of any more. FF7 is way too fun. MOVING ON!

FF10: Could Tidus BE ANY MORE ANNOYING? Why is he the main character? Have you designed him around the fact that we want to try and kill him at every possible turn? The sphere grid is still really awesome...

Okay, I'm out. Next!

FF9: Now here's a good one. First, why do healing items heal LESS DAMAGE in the overworld? Why is there no central plot... At all??? Kuja isn't even the final boss! The final boss is... Like... God or something. Why do I have to use all 8 characters at some point or another? Why do petrify and stop never heal automatically, and if all characters are petrified or stopped, game over? Why is Osma impossible to beat? Why does auto-life only heal 1 HP? Why does Beatrix never actually kill my team? If I'm left with 1 hp at the end of a battle with her, I CAN HEAL MYSELF FROM THAT. Why after fighting me 3 times, does Beatrix decide to join my team? AND WHY IS HER HEALTH 700-800 INSTEAD OF 5000 LIKE IN THE BOSS BATTLE? Why is the Queen such an evil *****? Why does dagger lose her voice for an entire chapter, hindering her in battle? Why does this game suck so much? BUT WHY DO I LOVE IT SO???

Really is a fun game.

Deus Ex is, uh... Nevermind, I can't criticize it. That game is perfection.
Boring-ass first level.
The graphics were mediocre for its time.
Uhhh.... Limited Character Customization?

Your welcome. :D

As for me, I'm just going to do my favorite for the current console generation:

Arkham Asylum CLAIMS to let players choose how they play, through stealth or through fighting, but in reality you are forced to do one or the other!

And another thing, why the hell do I have to travel ALL THE WAY THROUGH Crocs' lair just to get from one side of the island to the other! I call Shenanigans!

My favorite game is Bioshock. Here is what is wrong with it:

The pipe dream hacking was not a good idea
the end boss was far too easy
They could have done with a couple of more enemy types

Mafia?

Well, ummm... errr... hmmm...
Someone else here likes the original Mafia game? I'm not alone here? Yay! :D
It's my most favourite game EVAAAAAAAR.

Also, it sold like 2 million copies as a PC exclusive - according to Wikipedia it's the best selling TPS on the PC.
Well, it most certainly deserves it! :)

Uhmmm...Lets see.
Saints Row 2: Well, you're character is a complete asshole, and making your character not look like a freak requires a bit a time.

Dragon Age Origins: The combat is a bit awkward and there isn't enough unique armor and weapons, plus there are very few special skins.

Kotor2: Most of the game is a breeze once you get your prestige class. Except the time where you have to play as your henchmen *grumble* *grumble*...and the final battle...*more grumbling*

Neverwinter Nights, Original, SoU, HoU: Romance with Nathyrra wasn't finished T_T. Ten times better than freaking Aribeth...Oh and it's too short. I could never get enough of that game.

Oblivion
If I had to properly criticise it I'd say that in later levels fights take ages to complete at the standard medium difficulty; my main character is level 51 and standard encounters can sometimes take agonisingly long to defeat, especially if you go in with a damaged weapon, and if you're wearing light armour it's always down to like 50 by the end of it.
Bullshit level 51. Either that or you spent too much time playing that game.
Besides Oblivion had a miriad of shortcomings. First off the voice acting was - it sucked.
I don't think there were enough unique items with unique models/skins, the plot was...interesting. It didn't really hang well with the game, and it was really buggy. Really, it was. You got lucky. Oh, and the terrain wasn't particularly exciting.

BG1: terrible pathfinding ai and agonizingly slow walking speed. yeah that's all I got.

BG2: Completely removed almost all of the freedom present in BG1 (almost every location is quest related, which gives the world a more artificial feel to it, and you can't get to those locations unless you have already accepted that area's quest, thus destroying any freedom to explore).

The kits added in BG2 almost all either overpowered or useless, with no middle ground.

The classes added in BG2 are completely tacked on, seemingly without thought. The sorcerer is overpowered and out of place in 2nd ed rules, making the somewhat more balanced mage obsolete. The barbarian is utterly redundant, and inferior to the berserker.

Lack of variety in potential party members. Everyone and their dog is either multi or dual classed, Usually thief or mage. Why the fuck is Imoen dualled to mage with zero fucking explanation? Oh right, lazy writing and game design.

I could go on but I'm lazy too. I have a love/hate relationship with BioWare.

Other than that stuff, I positively love Baldur's Gate.

Soul Calibur 2, ummmmm, well actually, there was nothing wrong with the PS2 version that I liked so much. I guess all I can say is ummmm... well screw it I'll just say that in Soul Calibur 4 they gave Talim (the best character ever) a stupid hat.

Majora's Mask: Snowhead Temple was an ass, as was the saving system.

Braid: That fucking puzzle in world 2 that makes you make a platform out of puzzle pieces you don't have yet.

Banjo-Tooie: Fetch quests

Banjo-Kazooie: Losing all notes upon death.

Half-Life 2: Cars

BioShock: Got a tad bit repetitive. Ending sucked.

Shadow of the Colossus: No saving during a fight.

Portal: ...

Metal Gear Solid: Unpauseable cutscenes. I can stand long ones as long as you can fucking pause.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door: The "stage" aspect of the combat was gimmicky and stupid.

Okami.

Lesse...few problems with it, really.

First up, and the most glaring issue in my opinion: the difficulty. It's way too easy to get from start to finish, do all the sidequests, and see all there is to see in-game, without dying once.

Secondly, the combat looks like it could be a much more in-depth, combo-oriented fighting system. But in reality it's rather shallow and simplistic, where the only in-depth part of it being what kind of fighting style you want to use: reflector, sword, or beads.

Thirdly, the game is way...way too much akin to the famous Legend of Zelda series. But then, that might also be a plus, something it's got going for it. If you've played any of the Legend of Zelda games for console, then you'll enjoy Okami. But it's alike on the copyright infringement level, almost.

Hitman Series

The Hitman games are great but they have a couple flaws worth mentioning.

- Awful, floaty targeting

When I'm playing a world-renowned assassin, I want to be able to walk into a men's room and cap the first person I see all cinematic-like. Thanks to the floaty targeting, this is difficult to accomplish. Supposedly, hitman 5 is supposed to correct this with some kind of auto-locking feature like red dead redemption. Thank God.

- Hit/Miss level design

The single most valuable element in the hitman franchise is the open level design in which there are 5 or 6 ways to assassinate your targets. That's why it breaks my heart when the devs decide to throw in levels like the steamboat one from Blood Money. Linear level design does not belong in hitman; the ability to go anywhere in the level at any time means nothing when the only reasonable way to assassinate all the targets is to do so in a straight line (in the case of the steamboat level, from bottom of the ship at the spawn to the top of the ship at skip muldoon). There are more ways to complete the seafood massascre in contracts than there are in the last three levels of blood money.

Well, i'll just criticize my favorite series: Halo.

The levels tend to be repetitive.
The enemys feel like comedians instead of, well, ENEMIES.
The characters are mostly stereotypes.
The online community has a lot of asshats.

BUT.

The multiplayer is fun and simple.
The art direction is nice.
The good people in the community are a BLAST to hang out with.
The game modes can be customized for great results
There are some awesome maps with forge.
The storys are decent.

Hmm.... How can I criticize a game that I love so much....
Well, I guess in both Golden Sun games, there is a LOT of dialogue, making it hard to save at some points.
But everything else I really like: The combat, the characters, etc. Can't wait for Golden Sun 3 on the DS...

Final Fantasy VII:
There's been no remake! Okay I kid- more seriously, the game gets very broken later on with you able to trash just about everything you come across with ease. The end bosses are especially guilty of this, and don't pose any threat at all unless your characters are all 99 (he gets bonuses). Also, a personal gripe, my disk is scratched and doesn't play every cinematic.

Fallout 3:
F-ING DLC freezing. Cannot cross the marsh to the cathedral in Point Lookout- game crashes, every time, anywhere near it. Game breaking glitch on MANY copies of the game.
No real need to eat/drink/sleep. If this is a post-apocolypse, make me NEED these things.

- Baldur's Gate II could have used more in the exploration department. BG1 was great in that respect with lots of optional areas, and when I played BG2 for the first time I found it a bit disappointing that I couldn't wander around the whole world map.
- Knights of the Old Republic is too short.
- Knights of the Old Republic II has no ending, and in my opinion deviates too much from core Star Wars material in some areas.
- Warcraft II: the two sides are practically the same, but then again it's tough to expect more from an old game like this.
- Warcraft III: I honestly can't think of any here. I guess there's always some balance issues, but that's a given considering the game's competitive nature and 4 unique sides.
- Neverwinter Nights: as much as I would have liked to join in the module-making community, the toolset is too damn hard to work with for people like me with no knowledge of scripting and such. The one in NWN2 was even worse in that regard. Also, the implementation of the 3.0 D&D ruleset is questionable in some areas.
- World of Warcraft: not really objective criticism, but I just think the lore has been going down the drain since BC.
- Morrowind: the combat as a whole (melee, ranged and casting) is very wobbly.
- Zelda games as a whole: I've always found these to have anticlimactic endings. Nintendo's unwillingness to change the core story between each games is largely responsible for this.

UGH it pains me to do this but to keep in the spirit of the topic. Dragon Age felt like it was a cluster fuck allot of the time in battle. The NPC where dumb and didn't always fallow my orders. I wish the Warden spoke, you get to pick a voice and you can't hear it really much at all. Use it in more then just battle cries and give the Warden a personality. Bio god we know you can do all that. Look at Mass Effect. It's very buggy in some places and at one point made me delete a game and start over again because I was stuck in a mission. MAKE BETTER DLCs, like the ME2 and Kisumi Goto. I really really wish the origin and race you picked had more of an impact on the game then it did. I was a human noble and all it changed was I got to become queen and hated Howe more, oh and I got a dog faster. Please please please don't make me have to horde mana and health pots just to stay alive to get to the boss. DA:A was... SHIT so not worth the money I put into it for that. God I still haven't finished it.
