But... But... Fun gameplay! Good story! Both of these things are more important than graphics, and Serious Sam has them.

Also, it's an HD remake, so your argument makes no sense. I say Serious Sam for the PS3!
I'm only partway through the original first encounter at the moment but how is the story any good? It's appalling! I didn't have a clue why I was running around to get those elements nor did I get why Sam was after an artefact that he didn't know what it did. Why were there undead running around ancient egypt? As I said I'm only partway through, up to thebes, but the story is terrible! Don't get me wrong I like the gameplay and the encounters are fun and challenging and it's one of the best shooters I've played despite the dated grpahics but why praise the story of all things?

"If you want our game then grovel at our feet for it", is really what it feels like they are saying here.

The storyline is genius. It's the ultimate in "Enemy is here, go kill.", stripping away every attempt from stuff like Halo and Killzone to give any kind of justification for giving you increasingly large guns and sending you at increasing waves of enemies. I guess I like it because it's a story that knows it's an absurd situation and is one of the few that doesn't try to cover it up.

The storyline is just a convenient excuse to blow stuff up and it does remove some of the pretensions to seriousness that something like GOW has but you can miss it if you don't look for it. I'd collected two of the element before I realised that all the info I was going to get was the texts from the computer who was really just there to explain weapons and complement me on being a badass.
Although I admit that it does well enough to fit in ridiculously large weapons, like the cannon. Good times.

Surprised that the the PSN members were unenthusiastic about it.
Says a lot about the quality of the games we have otherwise, doesn't it?
No, not really. I think that no matter how many good games you have, there is always room for more, no?

Simply put: Yes! I want Serious Sam to come back to us and I want him to spread not only guts but the sheer admiration for him amongst as many players as there are.

Keep it easy on me here, as this really is a very private opinion now, but as someone who considers getting a PS3 soon that would be deffo a nice addition to me, as I dig the Serious Sam games ever since I had the Demo on the PC. I bought it, got the X-box version for little bit of extra content and if I have to pay again for a version on the PS3, gladly!

Sam is just the pure essence of a simple, nicely done, good looking and humorous shooter, of which we really really really need more in gaming in total... (is currently on Honeymoon with God Hand for the PS2 and is in sodomy-heaven due to it'S difficulty and grand humor)

And I really can't believe it but there are actual people who never even heard of Sam, which is really a shame in my opinion, because while people rant on about games being meant to be fun and keep on grinding WoW like a 2nd job (Don't beat me up, I also play WoW and am not a casual) need another laugh then and again.

Remember Yahtzee's "No More Heroes" review? If not, look it up and then check the Serious Sam trailers to get reminded that humor is still a mighty and painfully often neglected ingredient for a good, fun, mindless and overall enjoyable game...

Buy me that!
