Damn trailers getting me all pumped up for the game. I already know I'll be able to run the game on high as Crysis 1 had no problem running on my rig.

Now...where the hell is my PC demo!!!
Since Crysis 2 will be using DX11 it will take more to play on high if you got it enabled.

Watched through the trailer again, now with the original song by Frank Sinatra. Much, much better.

Yay, My computer is already Beastly, Good to know I don't need a beast to run Crysis 2.
To be fair though I could not run ultra at over 50 FPS and I can run Farcry 2 perfect.

Intel i7, ATI 5870...

I'm sure it's good enough, but how good?
Good enough, I have an i7 930 and a Nvidia GTX 470 card which has 3D capabilities. we're both set! Games like this tempt me into getting the 3D receiver so I can actually play in 3D.

Jesus Christ do some research first. Crysis 1 had much much lower minimum requirements.

Oh dear, I can hear the screams of console-dumbing over the horizon already.
Not necessarily, the first game, as Yahtzee put it, was supposed to run on a hypothetical super computer from space. The lower specs might help with getting more people into pc gaming as it makes things a little more accessable.
The "dumbing down" with some pc games isn't nearly as noticeable visually with a lot of games since pc games typically run better when you exceed the min requirements. controls and gameplay elements is where the dumbing down becomes noticeable, for me anyway.

I can currently run the first Crysis on Ultra high graphics at 70 fps, the fact that this one is slightly lower will mean that my processor wont heat up so quick :p
How....How the hell do you do that?

It must be the computer they use for the Space Program....

Oh come on! I was anticipating another computer overhaul, and you were the catalyst that was supposed to make it happen!

Oh well...

I CAN PLAY IT! YIPPEE!

i was able to play Crysis on Medium-High @ 1280x1024 with an AMD Athlon X2 4200 (2.2Ghz dual core) and an HD 5770, so I should be able to get just as good an experience with this.

Thank goodness, as after seeing the trailers and the urban environment I was starting to gnaw my knuckles hoping I'd be able to play it.

This looks like a good purchase, although I'll probably grab it for PS3

Actually, I'm not sure what the OP is smoking, but those "minimum" requirements FAR EXCEED that of the first game:

Minimum system requirements for Crysis
from Crytek and EA

OS - Windows XP or Windows Vista
Processor - 2.8 GHz or faster (XP) or 3.2 GHz or faster* (Vista)
(CRYSIS 2 Requires Dual-Core)
Memory - 1.0 GB RAM (XP) or 1.5 GB RAM (Vista)
(Crysis 2 Requires 2 GB)
Video Card -256 MB (6800+)
(Crysis 2 requires 8800 GT or better with 512 MB)
Hard Drive - 12GB
Sound Card - DirectX 9.0c compatible

IN FACT, Crysis 2 minimum requirements approach the RECOMMENDED requirements for the original. Wow, I can't believe escapist made a whole post that was wrong.

Thank fuck for that! I was expecting the need to rob an Ebuyer.com warehouse and make some hideous Alpha-PC that would need to be plugged straight into the national grid.

Seems like my quad core + gtx460 will do the job quite nicely :D

Yeah, I know that part already. I've got i7 overclocked to 4.0ghz, and a GTX 260 overclocked. Shove in 3gb of RAM running at 1333mz, I kinda thought I'd be alright.

Seriously, how did you get 70fps on ultra high? What Config file are you using?

Honestly, I don't even know, I just used the software that came with my cpu and ramped it up about 30%. Ever since it's ran like a dream.

Kind to my PC? I have to run Source engine games on low just to get a smooth framerate.. Smooth most of the time. >.>

I should be getting a new computer next week from my parents (yay birthday) but they probably don't have the money to get me a PC that is miles above my current one. If they do, I'll try the demo for this.. Oh wait.
