I'm glad they wont dumb down the PC version, like a lot of people do when making it for consoles also.
How exactly do you dumb down graphics?
Just sayin'.
Less polygons, low res textures, particle effects & basically anything that increases rendering time (FPS). If done smartly it can sometimes not be noticable depending on what's dumbed down, but if its polygon count, texture resolution and draw distance, they usually stand out from a mile away.
You neglect to answer my question: how is worse graphics dumber? Seriously. I don't see how polygon count affects the "intelligence" of a game.

Yay now the consoles can get an overhyped dull tech demo with a generic and plot crappy AI but very nice foliage.

I think I will be avoiding this like the plague seen as how bad the first was.
YAY!!!!! More Crysis bashing in the escapistmagazine forums!

*Runs for cover in trench's from crazy escapistmagazine forum users*
Its hard not to bash Crysis to be honest, I didn't really rate the graphics either to be honest, and before the flaming starts I have a rather nice PC thank you very much running 8800GTXs in SLI with a quad core, I just thought the graphics where dull. The destructible stuff didn't work for me, sure you could lob a grenade and a building would go boom but could you shoot someone through the wall? not on your life. The vehicles handled like shit, the weapons felt "wrong" I can’t put my finger on it but still wrong. It was just generally a bad game, but then again I didn't think Far Cry was any good.

But this is my opinion your mileage may vary. Also I have not played it since just after release.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has them.
And they all stink

Am I gonna be lynched for saying that I liked the aliens in Crysis???
They were Kickass, I got kinda sick of shooting waves of Generic NK grunts.

Final Boss fight was one of the best I've ever seen in a video game, It just feels so Freakin EPIC!

The way I see it, that while people who have extremely high-end computers will still have the best visual experience, I believe that the console gamers in general will have the better visual experience, as they won't have to take their consoles out back and perform unholy rituals in order and try and make their system run C2, much less make it look good.

My computer was able to handle Crysis on high, I can only hope it can handle Crysis 2. I didn't even need to spend over 1,000 dollars to do it, nor perform any rituals.

Hell a GTS 250 £100 can play all on high

Crysis 2 isn't any better graphically besides even a 7900gtx can handle medium settings and besides what kind of experience can you expect on say a PS3 with its 256MB of VRAM or Where not every Xbox has a HDD
Crysis medium quality is what to expect since even the footage shown contains no action and crysis contains a lot of explosions/physics/AI/player input.

Yay, better on PC. I can't wait to throw melted GPU bits at console gamers and laugh. Then cry and have to buy a new GPU. But whatever, I want a new graphics card anyway.

Mostly laugh though.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I ran Crysis on a 7900 GS OC at medium-high settings and it looked great and played well. Fun game too, although I never finished it, for reasons that will be obvious to anyone who came as close to finishing it as I did but never bothered wrapping it up. (Which means probably everyone except rundeadthA.)

You can never be sure with PC games - no matter how many "testimonials" you may give or hear, its a crapshoot for PC games to work unless you have a state-of-the-art computer, or the game is a couple generations old.

For all of you who are going to say that it works for you: well good for you. I spent $30+ on a game that should've worked, but doesn't - multiple times. The stats on the bottom and back of the box are absolute bull; unless you computer is several leaps and bounds above the recommendations, don't bother. You'll just wind up with fistful of tears and anger.

And I swear, if someone such much as mentions the phrase "build your own" I'm gonna find you. Its not easy, its not cheap, and if you fuck it up, theres no one to blame and no one to fix it - 'cept for you of course, but then again, you're the one who fucked up in the first place.

Yeah to be expected, but there were noticeable differences in the particle effects between the 360 and PS3, really noticeable differences, as the PS3 had much better volumetric smoke and particle effects.
I doubt anyone except for you noticed/cared for that.
Do you have any idea what particle effects are or the difference between volumetric smoke and 'standard' smoke?
When you do, you'll realise there is a huge difference visually and to not notice it is like saying no one cares/notices bump mapping...
Haha
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT PARTICLe EFFECTS ARE OR THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VOLUMETRIC SMOKE AND 'STANDARD' SMOKE?!?!?!?!1?111?!!? PS3 R BETTAR!!
Calm down dude. We don't care.

....Annnnd with that immature, naive attitude you ain't going to be around long.
That's like saying "Gwaffle, hic, thar be no difference between a .6 liter diesel engine and a V12, der, ther all enguns in the end aint dey, fuduuhhhh"
Ignorance is not an excuse, so don't think you're being smart by saying something that shows you have absolutely no idea about what's being said.
Now back to 4chan with you Mr Troll.
Oh, I'm sorry...
Please do dump us with your unbias "Report" on why the PS3's particles look SO much more realistic. I only call it a report because everyone cares, as you're definitely an expert on the subject. So please, spill us with details!

Just watch the CryEngine 3 video and learn what powers the two consoles, or is that a bit challenging for you?
Don't bring your 15 year old hormonal aggression to the internet because you can't & refuse to understand something.
But my 15 year old, hormonal ass strives for information that can only be delivered by the top of the line. Please share the information with me, as I only care when it comes out of YOUR mouth. Well, since you're most likely miles away, your fingers. I really didn't care until you started talking about it. This imformation is so interesting that I don't know how anyone would be able to play the inferior 360 version. I mean think about the smoke...
