Cure for DA2 Blues

For those of you, like me, who recently bought a game and have been hit by a "meh" attack, name a game or two that really caught your attention and you thoroughly enjoyed.

DA2 isn't a bad game, but to me it feels so much like a MMO that I don't care what happens and I can't be bother to pay attention. I am dedicating this thread to people like me who need something riveting and fun to bring us out of our funks.

An oldie, but a goodie: Portal is one game that really caught my attention, partially because it was so good, and partly because I had no idea it would be so fun. I am really hoping they can catch the magic again in the upcoming sequel.

Dragon Age Origins. I expected what we got with 2 for Origins but when I actually played it I was hit by one giant, 'meh'

I got a Modest Reuniclus.

The reason I played White over Black, was Reuniclus. All hail the bulky psychic sweeper! Defenses aren't as good as Gothita's line, but the 110 base HP and solid defenses means in can take a it to set up Trick Room.

That said, my Jolly/Intimidate Krookodile is fucking AMAZING. Crunch, EQ, Aerial Ace, and Brick Break.

Sawk was good, but all fighting moves meant he got canned once Krook got Brick Break from the TM.

Maybe I just put more effort into my picking due to the cash constraints but I can't really say I've ever bought a "meh" beyond a small stack of stuff I got from a closing LAN centre for about ?10.

Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines such a great game, I still miss Troika.

On the DA2 side I've yet to play an MMO that had characters, talking and, well, a game in it.

DA2 did disappoint me a bit so I loaded up Origins and felt better. Thinking about playing Baldur's Gate.

I'll just say the other 2 most recent games then. Bulletstorm and Pokemon. Both are great pick-me-up games if you ask me. Though Bulletstorm more for it's style and total ridiculousness than anything else.

Yeah, I've got the DA 2 blues. Because I'm not currently playing the game.

I think it's awesome, having more fun with it than I ever did with Origins. Sarcastic Hawke + Varric = best duo, ever.

It was so ... nice ... of Activision to force them to release an incomplete game, which subsequently drove their company into the ground.
(as well as having given them a buggy-ass beta source engine to work with)

Mount and Blade, and it's expansion Warband. Also, it's impressive mod community.

When you look at the screenshots, or videos, it really doesn't impress much, but when you play it, it's easy to get swept away by it.

Go find a copy of Baldur's Gate II. It's the penultimate cure for any lingering disappointment from DA2. The reason? Because it's everything DA2 should have been but wasn't.

White, just because I'm loving Braviary.
I have the Japanese versions of both, though, so I can get all exclusives on to one game.

And I've never used Vanilluxe. I've never really liked using ice types in my team. I heard it is great, though.

I just thought of a good addition: Beat Hazard. Simple, space shooter using my own music= win!

Definitely. Although, I only play it modded now, the main campaign just seems more limited in comparision.

However, I actually like DA2, so I'm currently finishing up my second playthrough.

Braviary is clearly the second best Normal/Flying. All hail King Staraptor.

But Black has Houndoom, and the better Legendary.

So I'm gonna replay KOTOR 2: Sith Lords!
