At least in New Vegas your choices alter gameplay and the ending. DA2 is the illusion of choice.
I am totally digging just how many choices and branching quests and optional objectives there are. Not once have I felt railroaded or like I am just going through the motions to the logical conclusion of a quest.

It really does take all of the best aspects of a Bethesda game and then props it up with the talented writing and creativity of Black Isle.

I liked DA 2, but I really wish that it had more of an ending, or a main plot beyond Hawke's rise to power. Actually I take it back, I am happy that they took a break from the typical Bioware formula of "Go to these 4 places to find objects to help defeat big bad" but I wish it had more of an ending like the first game did. A playable epilogue would have done wonders for DA 2 I believe.

Which is why I consider it so much better than Fallout 3. Just goes to show what good writing can do for a game.

Yeah, I've got the DA 2 blues. Because I'm not currently playing the game.

I think it's awesome, having more fun with it than I ever did with Origins. Sarcastic Hawke + Varric = best duo, ever.
Couldn't agree more.

Due to odd scheduling at work, I've been able to devote the last 3 days to the game. Whilst some of it was frustrating(seriously, the Arishock and the finale are a complete *****), the voice acting and branching dialogue system caused me to have silly amounts of fun with the game...I don't remember laughing so much whilst gaming, or getting so excited when I was given the option to tell someone I was gonna end them.

I would have liked more, more of the same, I was very attatched to my character and some of the others by the end. I've had no interest up until now, but now I'm seriously considering getting Mass Effect, are they very simliar?

I personally very much enjoyed Dragon Age 2, but I'm depressed for a different reason.

So I'm gonna replay KOTOR 2: Sith Lords!
Now if only the Exile could deliver all his lines in a smartass voice, my world would be complete. Also if they gave the game an ending that said what the hell happened.

Yeah, if I get bored, I'ma play Dragon Age Origins. I also agree with the guy that said Mount and Blade, THAT'S an awesome game that no one should pass up. And hey! Shogun 2 came out today, if you're decent at RTS's you should probably pick that up too.

I had this problem after I played Dragon Age: Origins. I had to load up the Berserk mod in Mount & Blade to wash the grey out of my brain.

Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines such a great game, I still miss Troika.
It was so ... nice ... of Activision to force them to release an incomplete game, which subsequently drove their company into the ground.
(as well as having given them a buggy-ass beta source engine to work with)
To be fair it was always going to be buggy because Troika, like Obsidian are now, were more about making interesting intelligent games than about making slick polished games.

OT: I found Mass Effect 2 to be meh. Funnily enough I countered that by playing a lot of X-Com and Jagged Alliance 2 after I had slogged through it.

Well considering my Xbox conked out on me (Damn you, E74 errors!!!! Damn you to hell!!!) I haven't been able to play my new copy of DA2 (had to pick up the preorder or lose my cash) so I haven't been able to get the DA2 Blues.

On the chance that I get to play it and I get the blues, the cure I found to stay the blues of not playing it will be the same cure i use to fix it...The Mortal Kombat demo

It's held up to and surpassed my expectations, so I'm very happy....plus I have bulletstorm...the mindless violence helps heal the pain.

There is a unofficial patch for the PC version. I think it is called The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod. They used a lot of the left over game assets on the original disk and some fan made stuff to round out the story and fill in the gaps. Worth playing the game again with the mod installed. If you're playing on console, well, sorry, you are shit out of luck.

DA2 really caught my attention and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I just beat it and I've started over a DA:O playthrough and all the problems with DA:O whose fixes in DA2 I'd taken for granted are glaring me in the face right now >_> still both great games though.

Bioware can suck my balls right now.

I'm playing Fallout New Vegas instead of DA2 and I am totally blown away by its quality, especially considering it was made by Obsidian. Its taken Obsidian from a "Company I will never buy from again " to "tentatively hopeful about Dungeon Siege 3"

Right, New Vegas, good suggestion. The "meh's", nothing a little power armour won't fix!

Speaking of Power Armor, I just murdered everyone in the BoS base because they tried to kill me. So much loot to haul.

:D

I killed everyone fullstop, because i got sick of being everybodys *****.

Wanna play something better, KoTOR or some other earlier bioware game should fix you right up. You know, one of those games of pure win that Bioware used to make

But thank you for the suggestion ;)

For me, Two Worlds 2. I made 9 LP episodes on it over the span of a couple weeks, and in just 1 week I already have 19 Dragon Age 2 episodes out lol. So yeah, DA2 cured my TW2 blues.

Hopefully they answer some questions with ToR. I'd still like to see KOTOR 3, though.

What with all the new technology and such, if they wanted to do a melee combat action RPG(As suggested in DA2), that seems like the perfect place to set it.
