I could see an expansion where you maybe got a small chunk of Cyrodiil, perhaps some main Imperial city which would be totally different since the centuries past, and probably much larger and more fortified and secure. I mean F3 took you to Pittsburgh, right?

Honestly, I'm still praying that Bethesda makes some sort of super game that involves all of the continents and is just a gigantic epic adventure.
Maybe they are saving that idea for an MMORPG. Which would be incredible.

I thought you could go to Morrowind in Oblivion. At least a bit of it.
Could you? o:
I know you could run across a member of the Morag Tong (remember: they're not sanctioned outside of Morrowind), and I think there may have been a cave network on the border, but I'm not sure.

I know there was a cave network that pushed you up into Skyrim, which was tied into one of the Bruma quests, but that's the only time I'm absolutely certain you left Cyrodil for another province.

I'd like to see Bethesda do a slow, but sure, expansion setup, slowly adding entire continents, or bits of 'em. Kind of like an MMO, I guess, except not.

Also...
I love the little glimpse of Cyrodill you've offered us with your screencap, OP. Had absolutely no idea that was there. I saw it and my heart skipped a beat: I see White Gold Tower, and I can pick out some similarities in Lake Rumare, I believe it is.

Same here. I'd just become a blacksmith/enchanter, and basically be a legendary merchant and get ridiculously wealthy, cutting deals on Dragon Armor to noobs.

Arena. The first Elder Scrolls game. It had every province, Summerset Isles, High Rock, Valenwood, you name it, it had it. The game world was HUGE. It would take you ten real time hours to get from one side of Tamriel to the other.

Unfortunately, everything outside the main quest was randomly generated, leading to alot of repetition.

In any case, if you're interested, check out this page:

I'm not sure why so many people in this thread want to go back to Cyrodil. It's been one of the least interesting provinces. I would prefer they make an expansion that allows you to go somewhere else. Maybe Summerset Isles, or Valenwood to fight the Aldmeri Dominion.

Yeah, but remember Cyrodiil is supposed to have been torn up in the war with the Thalmor. It'd be quite a different environment and state now than it was during the previous Era.
you've got a point, and it has been 200 years since the end of the oblivion crisis, oh and dragons are in skyrim, maybe some went south after alduin gets defeated.

You could go to Skyrim in Oblivion. In Bethesda games it seems to be normal to have more terrain outside the map. It's not an actual territory because there is nothing in it. I guess that's how they're making those worlds. So no, Cyrodiil won't be an expansion.

Well, if they don't make a dlc that gets you back in Cyrodiil, I'm sure someone will make a mod that does.

It's just there so you have something to see from a distance when you go climbing mountains. I highly doubt it's there for anything else. Besides, if it was a forthcoming expansion, why would there be a half-finished model there at all?

The wierd tower looking thing and the water around it is in a very similar shape. I doubt it's anything but maybe a expansion where you go back to Cyrodiil?
There will be mods coming out for that i guess. Building up a different Cyrodiil next to Skyrim would be sheer madness workloadwise but then there must be thousands of mad modders out there. I say chances are not that bad.

The first Elderscrolls was like that, but then the graphics were that simplistic. Then again, it was the ninties, so doing that now with current spec is a possibility... still, they'd better have a cool overall theme for the game, or else I'll just miss the dragons and shouts whenever I go to Skyrim...

And where would the problem in that be? I think a lot of Elderscrolls fans would require a change of pants and some kleenex if there had been a Morrowind expansion for Oblivion. That said, I'm still sore Bethesda/Obsidian shut down the guys modding the entire Morrowind game into Oblivion. I thought they were cool...

Well, somebody made a New Vegas mod where you go to the wastes of Washington from Fallout 3. It's not that far fetched.
Both those games were made on the same buggy engine and use the same basic design. Even so the mod has trouble with things like system comparabilities and random bugs deciding to reappear and disappear at will. Well that and the whole possibly very illegal thing.
