So, with all these sales going on I am constantly reminded just how broke I am and it pisses me off, like I was flipping through and saw the Indie Story Pack for $5 and it's normally like $55 and I want it so bad, but nay, I have no money.

Does steam make you suffer through similar disappointments?

Also: Wanna buy me video games? lol

Damn you for being cheap?

If you're so broke you can't take advantage of a $5 deal on something you really want, it's time to start managing your budget or get a better job.

Speaking of that indie deal, can someone tell me if those game are good?
Yeah, I know it's 5 bucks and all, but I have like 7 euro left on my steam wallet, and I won't be able to add to it for a few weeks at least.

TELL ME DAMNIT!

I don't have a job or a budget, every damn cent I get turns to gas so I can get to and from school, it really sucks, and whenever I have extra gas, I use it to try and find a job despite having failed at it constantly for the last 6 months. Trust me, if I had the money or a job or anything to support my game buying, I wouldn't be up here complaining about being broke, I'd be downloading my new games.

Steam bugs me in a similar way. Not that I can't afford the stuff that is on sale, it's that I actually see the stuff on sale that I wouldn't usually buy and think "oh damn, that's cheap, get that". All those little "oh damn"'s add up to one big "JESUS CHRIST I SPENT THAT MUCH?!?"

....

The last big sale steam did was the 10 day one about 3/4 months ago. I spent around £150 in it.

I've heard good things about And Yet It Moves and Gish, Recettear is excellent and worth the 5 bucks alone, Puzzle Agent is from Telltale who only make quality games and I don't know much about Jolly Rover, but even if that was the worst game on the planet, the other four should make up for it heavily(as you can tell, I want it pretty bad lol)

5 dollars, I have to pay 5 Euro for it. Which is more, but it's just the price of a bread, or a cup of coffee.
You seriously mean you can't pay a cup of coffee for it? No trying to be rude, but it's almost nothing to be honest.

I empathise friend, I empathise. Is no fun being unemployed and having to squeeze every last penny.

I wish you the best of luck with finding a job and/or finding other sources of money to fund the game-age.

Well maybe if you stoppped eating for a few days...
$5 is, what, a day at most?

If you live with your parents, ask them to buy it for you as an early christmas gift (be sure to mention that it's 90% off at the moment). $5 shouldn't be a big deal at all.

Yeah, that does sound tempting. Is it on till the end of the sale?

I'm going to wait and see if anything else comes along that I must buy, and get that if I have the dough at the end...

I remember back around christmastime last year they had a bunch of sales on those large "EVERYTHING THIS DEV EVER MADE!" packs, I bought like 3 or 4 of them and it ended up costing around $150-$200

I'm an unemployed uni student and so far spent about £15 on the sale and I do not intend to stop. Food can wait.

Wait... You're blaming Steam because you don't have any money? Really?

I agree with the title. Why do I need to install Steam when I bought the disc version?
Mount&Blade does it right. Buy it from Steam, or buy it from them and you won't need to have Steam eating up your memory in the background.
I use the Task Manager to close Steam when I play New Vegas. Makes it run noticeably faster.
