I suppose if Darksiders 3 features Conquest it could be an RTS game. Maybe Darksiders 4 featuring famine could be a Cooking game or something :p
They actually stray from the "Lore" past Death and War, the other two are Fury [http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/1/10354/1244884-darksiders_fury_super.jpg] (female) and Strife [http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/1/10354/1244886-darksiders_strife_super.jpg] (guy with guns and silly mask). Maybe Darksiders 5 will be Lost Vikings like where we switch between them on demand!

Well, playing as Death seems awesome and all; I just hope they won't mess up the core gameplay mechanics.

This has the potential to be a game so very, very awesome.

Looks good indeed. Doesn't seem to deviate all that much from the original game, but if you ask me that ain't such a bad thing. I like the look of Death as well, and his voice sounds exactly as I expected it would.
From the trailer I half expected Jackie Estacado's voice from The Darkness...
I would make an Unskippable reference. Something along the lines "the xth time I died" since, you know, "Death", but I can't think of anything.

OT. Eugh, I don't really care, other than that the character design looks ridiculous like in the previuos game.

I am looking forward to this very much so. I enjoyed the story of Darksiders I (Despite it not following ALL of the lore, but they had to change it in order to make it a Hack 'n' Slasher I suppose).

I never got around to playing the first one. Is it worth a rental at least? It looked interesting. This, however, has done little to pique my interest. I hope that the first Darksiders was more interesting than that made it out to be.
It's ok. If you have the option, I'd pick up the PS3 version, though. I had the 360 version (finished it twice... enjoyable but short), and there were really bad screen tearing visual hiccups.

I for one am looking forward to this. I liked the LoZ gameplay mixed with GoW/DMC combat of the first game. One thing I hope they improve: the story. Rather, how they present it. In the first game, the story and dialogue came across as clumsy, like all they did was write down some notes of what they wanted and made the game based on that. Other than that, this has potential to be another big (and good) franchise.

Additional: Another thing I hope to see in this game is a character arc. War was a badass, for sure, but he didn't learn anything by the end and he didn't improve (or un-improve). At the end of the game, War was the same revenge-bent anger-management candidate he was at the beginning.

Death has a certain Raziel vibe to him, quite appropriately, even complete with a Moebius stand-in being all mysterious at him. Alas, 2012 is so far away.

I'm sensing another terribly buggy PC comp to cash-in on the poor gamers.

Yes, it's worth a rental, but not a full purchase, unless you can get it for the same price as renting it.
The first Darksiders was a pretty good game with an interesting story, though the lack of a New Game+ weakens it's replay value. And there's only one set of unlockables (ten pieces of a new set of armor) in addition to the various weapons that you receive.
But keep in mind, that's only my opinion. You might like the game enough to buy your own copy.

I can forsee a problem if they continue down this line.
Famine is not going to be a very fun horsemen.

OT: Well, I may pick up the first one. Never had the chance to play it.

Ah, awesome sauce. Definitely looking forward to this, as the first game was quite enjoyable. Only thing I'm upset about is that it takes place concurrently to the first game and not afterwards. I really wanted a sequel that would explain what happens next since the first game sets it up so well and the odds seem huge.

I just hope that this isn't a trend - "here's what the other Horsemen were doing at the same time" and then it isn't until the 5th game that we see what actually happens next. That would be very disappointing. Although if they can deliver on the 4-player co-op I think I'd somehow be able to forgive them. Maybe. Depends on how long they take.

Is it just me, or does Death look like a cross between Raziel [http://www.nosgoth.net/Defiance/images/LoKDefiance_RazielRender1.jpg] and a pro wrestler?

Played the first one in a demo-like setting, and it really piqued my interest. If Death's character art were to be improved, then I would be more interested in this. Still looks cool, though.

Death has...no mouth...and no real facial expressions. Ugh I cant say I'm drawn to that character design.

since in the darksiders universe the horsemen are not all men and not like what one is used to death may very well turn out alright as a protagonist(meaning not ridiculously overpowered). As long as they don't make a crappy cover-based TPS with Strife i am game.

Oh and please don't make us PC gamers wait for the port forever this time, yes it was a really good one and had an awesome box but still.

The trailer look good but I bet Yatzee will make a comment on Death designs like he did on War on the first game.
