Death (...) tantalizing
Is... is this supposed to be a reference?

Also, I played Darksider's demo, it was a bloody mess, it would have been a fun game had it come out on 1998 but nowadays it's just giving every game design principle the finger. I'll probably pick it up sometime because I'm a GoG fan and so 'plays like a 1998 game' isn't enough to stop me, but it deserves little praise.

I've seen plenty of designs for Death and that must be one of the lamest ones.

Ok I can see how Death and War can be badass protagonists, but how would Famine and Pestilence work?

I think the change of the last two Horsemen is because to keep it hack&slash.

By default Vigil Games is going backwards in terms of "Power". I.e. War being the strongest of the 4, then Death, then Pestilence, then Famine. Its rather their "Order" as it were, being that War included parts of the other 3. Its rather weird how its written anyway, the Lore itself, not what Vigil Games is using from it.

I would see Pestilence as some sort of "mage"-type character, i.e. slow/fragile but incredibly powerful with Curses and such Stuff. Where as Famine may be used as some kind of "Pet Class", i.e. having Zombies or whatever as his little horde, kinda Overlord Style.

War and Death are basicly the "we can fuck you up" Guys, hence why they kept them since they can keep the game as straightforward hack&slash ala Devil May Cry/God of War. The original other two wouldnt work for it, hence the change, even though if they had kept them, they could have made some interesting Gameplay Variations, i.e. Pestilence being all about Curses and Diseases, gaining power from "corrupting" Things and smacking Dudes from afar. And Famine being a sort of "Yo, here's my little Underling Horde who rips you apart".

Still the trailer looks semi-interesting. Though im not much of a Fan of how they made Death look, given the Style they gave to War, which fit rather well. Death seems like they wanted to keep it like that but went too far any he looks..comical and over-the-top now. Still to me it would be the last Game i'd play given that they changed the last two Horsemen to be something else, which to me has no real relation. I mean Fury and Strife are essentially like parts of War and Death to begin with, so its like a second-hand copy of the first two.

I never got around to playing the first one. Is it worth a rental at least? It looked interesting. This, however, has done little to pique my interest. I hope that the first Darksiders was more interesting than that made it out to be.
It's all of the best parts of the Legacy of Kain series, combined with all of the best parts of the Legend of Zelda series.... with random bits of other awesome games (like Portal) thrown in for good measure.
It's worth more than a rental.
It' worth you owning it.

And on that note...
I can't friggin' wait for this game.
The first game got tons of great reviews when it came out. And I loved every second of it.

And of the four horsemen, Death is my favorite.

I can't wait for this game

This just doesnt seem to fit with the first game.
As if Death was on Earth at the same time as War, then what was the 3rd projectile? 5th Horseman? I dont think they would do that. Also why did Death go to try and clear Wars name, if they all went then it couldnt have been blamed on War in the first place.

They disappoint me. They said ages ago that they originally aimed for a 4 player game, but had to get some practise with Darksiders 1.

In Darksiders 1 when it showed silhouettes of the horsemen, Death looked like a cool skeleton.

And you can tell from items in the first game that they renamed the other two horsemen. One having a female silhouette, being called Fury, that had a whip, and the other being Strife, with guns.

[HEADING=1]WHAT IS HAPPENING?[/HEADING]

Still...looks good.

Darksiders 1 was pretty good, hopefully this one is better. And has more replayability.

Well they got me hyped for 10 seconds, then I realized I have seen that scenery somewhere before... oh yes it's all from Darksiders 1, and since all 4 horsemen turned up at the end of that game I was expecting D2 to go apeshit with all of them wrecking the worlds, and yet they reverted back to one single dude doing everything.

The first Darksiders had alot of potential but also alot of problems that needed to be fixed, and now it looks like they just got lazy and intend to print the same game 4 times...
Apart from the Earth parts, I don't remember seeing any of that before.
Well let's hope I'm wrong and it is all new, I really do want them to up the ante on this one and it blows me away (but I wont jump the gun until I see some proper game footage).
Actually, some of that stuff is old. The part where it shows Tiamat is from Darksiders, and when it's talking about the place for the angels, that scenery/environment is also from Darksiders 1. The parts with War are also all from Darksiders 1 (but that's kind of the only way to show War). Perhaps they might reuse some of the old environments, but hopefully not.
