From the synopsis so far, it sounds kind of half-assed. I'll keep an ear out for it, but I'm not expecting much.

The first movie was excellent (One of my faves actually), the last thing it needed was an unnecessary remake. Really if this bombs I don't care (although if it goes poorly people won't buy the original thinking it's the crappy remake), also Arnold acting may be hammier than a bacon factory but he did a good job with the role.

So, they're remaking a film that was connected only to the original short story through core concept and now their remaking THAT and further removing the story from the original? That sucks. I wonder how P. K. Dick would think of his kids selling his works whenever they get a bit strapped for cash... Also, Colin Farrell has only have been in one film where he was any good and I highly doubt he can do it again.

I was like "who?" then I realized it was Viktor from the Underworld series.
Yay to casting him, but like others... why the hell does this need a remake?!

Definitely not seeing this, unless Movie Bob gives it two thumbs waaaaay up.

The first one is so glorious - it's both terrible and cliched, while having a great thought provoking story at the same time.

I don't really see a need for this to be remade (unless they're actually making it more like the book -- that is to say nothing like the Ahhnold movie).

I'm probably going to avoid this like the plague... Love original Total Recall.

...But before I get incredibly annoyed... Did the book take place on Mars? I never read it.

wait, that's false. i like plenty of movies from then, just on novelty merit. THEN there's the awesome ones. most of John Carpenter's movies are on my shelf and watched at a hat's drop.
BRAVO! I myself, recently completed my collection of Blu-Ray John Carpenter classics (the ones that are available anyway)... My favorite director.

Okay, fine.

I'm still gonna hold out for eyeball popping action though.
