I would give my sky happily to see the crew of serenity fly. I'm bummed that there are only 60 comments on this little article.

I'd go for this, just as long as they
retconned out Wash's death/set it before the events of Serenity/ignored the movie completely. the show wouldn't be the same without Alan Tudyk.
Yes this is a must.

I've signed on to this. While I remain skeptical about our success I am at the same time optimistic. Anyone who is interested I implore you to share this with any of your friends who are fans simply to let them know as I'm sure they would appreciate the opportunity to be a part of it even if they choose not to.

Uh, hey guys: the Science Channel already bought the rights to Firefly. They're gonna re-air the whole show in its original intended order. If you want more Firefly (and let's face it, we all do) tell everyone you know about this, and WATCH THE SHOW. If ratings are high enough, there's a solid chance of getting new episodes. It's simpler than organizing a charity drive, and doesn't directly involve giving anyone special any money. Best part is it may end in more Firefly. We all win! Now watch the show, damnit.

For the love of god please, please let this work. I may have only gotten into Firefly last year but it was by leaps and bounds the best TV show I've ever seen and when I was done watching found myself searching for signs that the show might be able to get on air again.

Why can't I be a millionaire and give this man my money!!!?

(I may be killed for this, but I've never watched Firefly, I live in the UK, anyone give me somewhere to watch it?)

Sarcasm? Seriously, this comment makes no sense at all. As for somewhere to watch it, buy the DVD dude, you won't be disappointed and it's under £10 on Amazon. Considering the quality of the show, that's not a price to be sniffed at.

OT: I've already liked the hell outta this on facebook and I'd happily skip the equivalent of two crappy 3D movies to try and resurrect Firefly.

Also: CNN Source fail:

When reading a story about an army of internet fans willing to pledge thousands of dollars to resurrect a nine-year old television show, an ad links to "Impact the World/Take Action" pages on the needs of people following the Earthquakes and Floods of the past two months....

I loved Firefly, but that does put a slightly different spin on it...
Hm, that's an interesting point. I don't think it's really valid yet. If this gets pulled off, then it's sad that the cause donated to wasn't more worthy, but at the moment, all this is is positive momentum and speculation.

At the moment there's not even 100,000 people attached to this yet, a tiny proportion of the population able to donate aid to natural disasters, so I think it's unfair to imply the people thinking of giving money to get Firefly made are inherently callous because the cause isn't more worthy. Of course this is on the assumption that people who want Firefly back wouldn't donate to anything else like a natural disaster fund anyway, and who's to say they haven't?

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that it doesn't make a difference. It's not taking money away from the charities tying to help those involved in natural disasters and it's a flawed assumption to think that no one involved in trying to bring back Firefly would help out another cause as well.

But this is about Firefly, not Glee o_O

If you've really not seen it, I would recommend it. It's one of those very rare universally awesome things- even my mum likes it, and she doesn't like all that much. Plus, like I said, it's cheap as hell to get hold of.

Oh dear God yes. I just recently got into the show, so it's technically new to me. But good God that would be the greatest thing to happen to t.v. for a long, long time.

I don´t actually like Firefly, but I´ve really grown to like fans of the show.
There always seems to be a kind of childlike (and I mean that in a POSITIVE way, believe me) enthusiasm present when they talk about it.

If nothing else, it is a nice break from the constant bitching and whining you get when you talk about TV with most people.

So yeah, I don´t think it will ever happen,
but I hope you get your show back.
