Haha, pretty funny - you guys need to lighten up (a lot).

If you're actually offended by it then I laugh thrice-fold at you.
My thoughts too, the reactions here are more entertaining than the article itself...

It's satirical. We make great partners because the chance of meeting a girl are so slim that messing it up is not an option.

I can only laugh and feel good about the number of geeks that may have gotten some back time on this. But the funnyer thing is the women that realize that this is wrong. (after they nail the geek.) To tink that anyone is so routine or predictable in bed or just in life is sad.

Yay for generalisations. Not only does that thing insult men but it insults all kinds of men and generalises us all. And if that thing thinks that just because I'm a geek means I don't have kinky fantasies, maybe involving leather and spanking, then it is soooo wrong.

Besides why can't we be told we're 'hot'? Nothing wrong with complimenting someone.

4. He?s always up for a little roleplay

BULL CRAP.

5. He?ll only have eyes for you (okay, and that weird chick or whatever it is from that game you wish he wouldn?t play so much).

Double BS

It's pretty much a generalization trying to be funny.

Hey, my geek cheated on me and he never wants to RP. WTH!?

You are a geek.
Really?

All you can tell about a person from that, is they like video games, and apparently discussion too.

You need more than that to classify someone as a geek.

Oh yeah, because limp-wristed, testosterone-deficient nerds with no self-confidence or ability to project masculinity around women make wonderful lovers.

Just what are you guys doing in those lockers you keep getting shoved into?

I just discovered this [http://www.dirjournal.com/info/why-geeks-make-great-lovers/] site.
This is what it says (in case you are to lazy to click the link):
Alright ladies. Pull up a chair. It?s girl talk time. We?re going to talk about men. We?re going to talk about sex. We?re going to talk about geeks ? yes, geeks.

Let?s talk about the computer-obsessed, sci-fi loving, constant video game playing segment of the male population today, and why those geeks you normally wouldn?t give the time of day can actually make the best lovers. Yes. That semi-adorable geek next door might just surprise you if you take him for a roll in the hay. Here?s why:

1. Unlike traditional male fantasies, no one expects you to live up to his.

You?ll never be some virtuous, other-worldly princess-warrior type who runs around half naked and kicks some serious ass. So what? Your geek gets that. He?s not going to push the issue. An ?average? man on the other hand? Yeah, he probably really does hope that one day you?ll finally start calling him your ?daddy,? in bed, let him spank you after he binds you in leather, and maybe even have a threesome with the cute chick he flirts with at the office. Go with a geek ? unrealistic fantasies perhaps, but the expectations are easier to live up to. And hey, there?s still plenty of room for leather

2. You never have to fake a headache.

As you know, sometimes a key to being a great lover is to know when not to push for sex! If you?re tired of faking headaches to get out of it after a long day at work, a geeky guy is right up your alley. Not in the mood? That?s okay. Just plop his ass down in front of the TV and treat him to an unexpected Star Trek or Dr. Who marathon. He?ll forget what he?s missing in no time.

3. He?ll pay attention to your needs too.

With many of the Average Joe types, sex begins and ends with the whims of his penis. Men can be quite selfish in bed. You would think by now they would have learned that if they?d put in just a little bit of that effort to actually please their woman, they?d get far better sex far more often. But sadly, no. It?s a foreign concept to many. Not to that geek you?ve got your eye on though ? he?ll be so happy to see a real woman naked that you pretty much double your chances of him actually paying attention to your needs!

4. He?s always up for a little roleplay.

Let?s face it ladies. A little bit of kink never hurt anyone. And with a geeky guy by your side, you?re sure to have some fun pursuing fantasies of your own. After all, do you really think he?ll turn down that hot little brainiac tutor getup you rock so well, or is your man going to be irresistibly hot for teacher?

5. He?ll only have eyes for you (okay, and that weird chick or whatever it is from that game you wish he wouldn?t play so much).

Geeky men rarely realize how hot they actually are. But shhhh! Don?t tell them. We wouldn?t want their egos going to their heads. Geeks can be incredibly devoted lovers. After all, when you factor in the time he spends with you, his computer, his remote control, his video games, his films, and his various conventions, there really isn?t any time left to have a wandering eye. You?ll be appreciated for putting up with his various quirks, he?ll make you feel like that exotic princess he fantasizes about, and when he makes you feel like the only (living) woman in the world, the sex can be infinitely more satisfying.

Okay, okay. So not every geek is going to be a god in bed, but if you?re already attracting duds what?s it going to hurt to give one a try? You may be pleasantly surprised.

I think that?s all we have time for in today?s little girl chat though. I have a bit of ?field research? I need to get back to.

I feel largely offended, and a bit flattered

How do you feel?

EDIT: Oh, and to give my* generic answer: Hooray for stupid people!
*[sub]To me it is![/sub]
That girl is an idiot.

Pure and simple.

When we wanted her 'attention,' she calls us a freak, well forget those types of girls.

No it's all because from gaming we all have agile hands/fingers. I'll leave it there before it requires a later timeslot.

While that is a bit stereotypical and generalizing a very large group of people, that is true with me, though I've heard of these "Geeks are better in bed" theories before.

While I can't speak for everyone, I can say, that list is pretty accurate with me.

too many bits to quote but till go with this "So not every geek is going to be a god in bed, but if you're already attracting duds what's it going to hurt to give one a try?"

Saying every geek is a dud.

To all of us: we're supermen.
1,2 and 3 are really the same thing. 4 seems to ecourage dating a "geek" just for gifts.
15. "Geeks are often very simple creatures" refusing to acknowledge geeks as people and more as "creatures"
22. "There are lots of good ones out there: Geeks tend to not be very active in the dating field, so there are plenty to choose from." A valid (though a bit vague) point...does othing to adress quality/quantity ratio
26."Your geek will introduce you to new things" an extremely broad term that doesnt just apply to geeks, people have different lives, what are the odds of finding anyone that does everything exactly as you do?
39."They?re educated" implies everyone who isnt a "geek" is a dumbass.
41."They respect grammar: Geeks tend to be perfectionists, and this habit extends to grammar."
finally, being a constant grammar nazi is a good thing apparently
42"Geeks are rich" so much for all that about us being attentive and dedicated like ANY partner should be, just date someone because they're rich. great relationship advice right there.
43.They?re not jerks, 47. Geeks are respectful, 48. Geeks give a damn, 49. Geeks are straightforward:
So it's only the geeks that are good people is it? although from experience everyone ive met who is between the ages of 13-mid to late 20's that isnt a "geek/nerd" is 7 times out of 10 is a complete ass, 1 of the 3 remaining are my freinds and the other two are the people i dont know well enough to get a proper opinion
[/rant]

...holy crap i wrote a lot.

Hey, if any women actually read these, it can only increase your chances, right?

Lighten up, hiding in the dark won't help.

My university published something like this for the Faculty of Mathematics. 'Why you should date a Math major'. I think the best one was, "They're used to staying up all night long.". Runner-up was "They'll always remember your birthday with an error margin of +/- 182.5 days".

Despite all of the various insults I feel we as a community (not as individuals) received during that article, it makes an ok-ish point...more on the side of "try something new" then "you've got nothing left, start doing the guys you never would've previously considered."

:) I love it and it is so true. That is basically the reason I have stayed with geek/nerds. Hell, I married a Dungeon Master/gamer. Intelligience + imagination = Awesome!!!
