And another thing, don't judge people by their names. If anything, it makes you the stupid one.

You don't get to choose the name you're stuck with. Your parents do. And OP, Zach is not a designer name. Just because something isn't spelled the way you think it should be spelled doesn't make it designer. There are legitimate ways to spell a name differently. Names like John and Jon (short for Jonathan).
The Names I'm asking what you think of the Names not the people who have the names, The name them selves.

Hello. Dude who's real name is "Zach" here. While I have had people misspell my name as "Zack" or even the dreaded "Zak," I usually don't let it get to me all that much. There is not one correct way of spelling the name, but rather multiple ways with the same pronunciation. It really is up to the parents whether or not how they want to spell a name such a "Zach." My father originally wanted to name me "Zachariah," from the Bible, and I would have been fine with that.

Needless to say, whenever I see my name misspelled when I am addressed, I make sure to correct it in the simplest and kindest of manners. That is all there is to it.

Well, it seems I am not the only one on the Escapist with a Renamon avatar anymore. Heh, I guess many people find her awesomeness to be quite enticing. Generally it is the silent and mysterious ones that develop a large fan base, for it makes them all the more kick-ass.

Really? This post of yours says otherwise.

No John is a regular name. It is not mispelled, nor is it pretntious. Has there every been a genral named say, Zach pershing?
Only people with "regular" names can become great people or historic people?

I cannot complain. My own name is fairly generic. In fact, it was the 10th most popular name for a male in the decade in which I was born if memory serves.

And, for the record, my name is Joseph. I've also been known to answer to "Joe", "Joey", "Private", "Specialist", "Corporal" and "Hendricks".

With a name as generic as mine, I really don't care how someone addresses me, so long as it is clear that they are doing so.

There is a dude named Kyll which is pronounced as Kyle in my TAFE course. Surprise surprise, he gets the shits when people pronounce it "Kill"
I would think that anger would be better directed at the people who gave him that asinine name. How can you be pissed when people pronounce a word the way it looks?

Um, there peoples names? So what if there spelled a different way, get over it.
Wait 'til you get a job where you have to verify the correct spelling of everyone's name. And see the first part of this post. It's not fun for the person with the 'special' name either. I'm not saying this is a rage-able thing, but it can get kinda annoying.
Already did it, you would be surprised how pissy people get if you spell there name John insted of Jon, but hey, i cant say much, My girlfriend has a intresting middle name, so maybe thats why im so adament about this.

Yeah... Zach is the original spelling, then it got turned into Zack, and Zak. But who cares? Names don't say anything about a person at all, which makes me angry at OP for trying to create stereotypes about people.
No, i wanted what you think when you see/read/say a name thats mispelled on purpose, such as Marc, or Karly.
But that's the problem. Marc isn't misspelled, nor it is on purpose. Marc is short for Marcus. There really is no correct spelling for any name, and I find it annoying that you automatically assume that when someone has a name with a different than usual spelling, it's because their parents wanted to be edgy or something. A belief you've shown absolutely no basis for.

I fucking hate it. I work with the public and it's such a pain in the ass to have to ask EVERY FUCKING PERSON how to spell their name because their parents wanted to make them unique. News flash-it's not special, it's just spelled wrong.

Here's the most retarded one I've seen to date: Ciial

That's pronounced 'Kyle'. I'dve stabbed my mom in the face if she did that to me.
I keeo thinking Cialis.

Zach or Zack is fine.
Hunter however, is not a name, let alone one appropriate for a young girl.
I know a girl named Hunter.
Her middle name is Taran.
Her brother's name is "Addison".

One weird family.

I hate names that are puns (like naming a boy "Bounty" if his last name is "Hunter"), or cannon fodder for reticule when they're older.
Ridicule, champ.
A reticule is the aim-y thing in games...
Silly Catface.

OT: my name's Jordan, or in terms of designer names, my name is:
-Jordon.
-Jorden.
-Jordaan.
-Jordyn.
-Jordain
-Jourdan
-Jourdaine

In short
Jordan. (Hebrew name)
Jourdaine. (Sounds like a pouncy french name)

Needless vowels ruin good names.

It's their name they can spell it however the damn well like and you can be as pissed off as humanly possible about it.

Just for the my name is now spelled with a highly elaborate SQUIGGLE.
THAT'S RIGHT I REFUSE TO EVEN USE LETTERS. HAH.

It's a name. Really really, there sooo many other things to invoke ire in the human brain than how someone spells their name.
Woah, calm down dude i just meant it bothers me a bit.
I am bothered by your botherdness.

Bother! Botherbotherbotherbother!

I'm unfamiliar with this thought of 'designer' names. But I don't care, in fact I kinda like it. No, I quite like it.

To each their own.
