I recall a story arc in Baldur's Gate 2, in which your character was asked what his favorite color was.
The inquisitor was determined to paint you as evil, so he provided a dysphemism for whatever you picked. Your NPC friend would then attempt to counter with a euphemism.

Point being; COLORS HAVE MULTIPLE IDEAS ASSOCIATED WITH THEM. It's the context in which they are used that's important.

Oohhh... so that's GOLD and Black and NOT the coffee-Brown so many shooter/RPG/platforming/sandbox games have all been using to poorly represent a Dystopian world.

Although I should say, it's predecessor was not exempt from the same mistake either.
True, DeusEx the Original also employed dark-blue to implement an austere sense of duty, but everything else was a world filled with proverbial brown men where everyone looked the same -miserable and dull :(
Add to that the occasional shout of "Fascist!" pointed in my general direction, and it was enough to make me question the motives behind my standing orders which were "shoot everything on-sight!" -but then-again that was the whole point :| "question Everything, believe Nothing"

I wonder what the game would be like with some random load of pink in it.
