Eh...
This trailer looks a bit more gray/brown than the previous concept art led me to believe. I'm... underwhelmed. I've been following this game though, hope it turns out good!

It's a mainstream game it's not going to be the same... at best I think we get linear good and bad choices leading to an objective... I know it won't be the same...

Okay, can anyone tell me what, at 1:51, that big hole in the middle of the ocean is? Was that mention in the previous games, or is that just the byproduct of dividing by zero?

Someone watched Ghost in the Shell.

And I'm not complaining.
Agreed! It feels very much like a Male Major, and everything look s like GiTS...

...I love it

I think this game looks very cool, but Square Enix games always look cool. The story kind of sounds like it's framed around tracking down a gang of cyborgs that are somehow responsible for all the world's problems. To me, that sounds like an excuse for the player to move from boss battle to boss battle. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe there's more to it then that. But from what I've heard of the story for this game....It's not much. I've heard good things about previous Deus Ex games, but I'm not getting that here.

Can we just get Square Enix to make another movie? This looks more like a movie than a game. I think they should just take all the cinematics, and release them in theaters. I'd watch it.

Oh shit. Here I go, getting excited about a game again.

If this game breaks my heart...I will have to wait until the ME3 trailers start showing up!

Not only that, but they have camo suits, spider tanks and mind-hacking.

Some style and setting details, but little eles.

If Squeenix is good at something, it's making dazzlingly awesome cut-scenes that have nothing to do with the gameplay itself.

What's the [h+] 3 at the end of the trailer supposed to mean?

A google search only brought up hydronium.
Maybe h+ stands for "augmented human". And the power of three could mean either that it's the third Deus Ex title, or that some h+ is incredibly badass.
I think it stands for height, or it could be the symbol of transhumanism.
It's probably messages within messages. I thought immediately of human plus or augmented human to the power of 3 indicating the third installment. With a title like Deus Ex it could also incorporate something like a Hydron (a hydrongen atom with no electron) which is in essence a single proton. The 3 could also indicate the third dimension if they're going the 3D route.

Honestly though it's likely just stands for Deus Ex 3 and I'm having a Braid style meltdown from the awesome...

Okay, that trailer gave me goosebumps (or I might just be cold) But either way, this game is rocketing its way up my 'must buy list'.

O.K. It's cool but why the age wall. After Call of Duty you would think shooting into crowds was not so controversial anymore.

How was the original Deus Ex not mainstream?

OT: I hope its Deus Ex level design, actual choices that affect the story (Deus Ex had what, two choices that actually changed the storyline in any noticeable way? If that?) and combat with modern sensibilities, i.e. bullets aren't just minor inconveniences to an enemy who suddenly dies after a magic number of bullets have entered their bodies.

Still want to know if there are multiple paths through a level.
According to the myriad articles about the actual gameplay demo that the press got to examine, the answer to that question is yes.

More On Topic: Oh hell yes. I've yet to see anything about this title that's even slightly dampened my enthusiasm, by all accounts it really sounds like they can pull off a prequel that lives up to its forebear. Also I would totally watch the movie if they ever made one like these trailers, that would be awesome.

it was released by a mainstream company but it wasn't aimed at as wide an audience as the new Deus Ex...or Invisible War for that matter...

Well my personal hope is that they make essentially a good version of what Invisible War was supposed to be. That's also their stated intention. Of course they're perfectly capable of failing dramatically.

yeah but they do have a huge budget and being published by Square means they have to worry about at least breaking even. so there is like a 90% chance it will just turn out to be another lack luster shooter with like 2 gimmicks, the setting and a tube that shoots lemons or something...
