This is pretty ridiculous. Gawker at least sent me an email right away.

I'm pretty upset about that Gawker thing, though. As it turns out, the passwords in their database were not encrypted and so my password was stolen. I'm not a happy camper.
Storing passwords as plaintext is such a basic security flaw. I can't really believe that those guys would code their website in such a poor manner.

Let's hope the Escapist doesn't get hacked.
I hope that my password isn't stored in plaintext here, at least.
