I'm a pretty diehard Dark Souls fan, and the idea that people think the only thing that makes it special is that it's hard is the worst. I would say it's best to go into it with not a lot of information and such because a lot of the game is about a sense of exploration, but I think caring about your reputation as a player is fucking stupid.

Pfft, the only way to play this game is a full Strength Greatshield of Glory + upgraded Broadsword build. Who needs to parry when something hits your huge ass shield and puts themselves into a parry state for you.
Already rekt a bunch of fastrolling, Uchigatana wielding, that ring that makes you invisible when you roll (but the lock-on still works so it's actually useless) using scrubs who think they're God's gift to parrying.
That's 6 wins to 0 losses Dexfags. Git gud.

I go by the fighting game mean: Any game genre or series with a fanbase more cancerous and dick-waving elitist than the fighting game community is more than I can handle. Hence, I avoid MOBAs and Souls games. XD

Oh it's the crowd that thinks "that would make it easier" is a sufficient argument to dismiss any and all suggestions that would make the game more enjoyable and playable like it is some universally understood doctrine that difficulty is the only reason for a game to exist at all.
