raul tells you that mexico gets hit by nukes, cause he lived near mexico cityMoosh50 said:Point Lookout wasn't hit by nukes. I would also think that Latin america would have gotten off with fewer nukes then USA. It would be interesting to see if some powerfull drug lord would have made himself a dictator.
fallout wiki states russia was in the war toohenritje said:point lookout isnt a wasteland its still radiated but doing fine
maybe parts of russia maybe australia possibly parts of africa
a MMO is in production-fallout wikirazing32 said:Hmm ... no contact with ANY countries ?!?!?! Did the US roll a higher saving throw than the rest of the planet or what ?!
Maybe they're saving the world for a Fallout MMO.
Fallout wiki says Europe got into a resource war and eventually used nukesNimbus said:Europe? Would be weird if Europe got hit.
Antartica probably wouldn't have been nuked but would have probably been meltedcanadamus_prime said:It was kinda implied that the whole conflict was global in nature, although it was instigated by the US & China, so I'm pretty sure that means anywhere and everywhere. ...well maybe not Antarctica.
Exactly. Because why nuke a desert...Dana22 said:The Mojave Desert, as in Fallout New Vegas, didnt got hit by as much nukes as other areas.
It's a game based on retro tech, I don't think they are terribly worried about realism and accuracy. I mean we have lost in space style high tech robots running around, laser weapons and the like, but all computers are simple text interfaces.John the Gamer said:But the fallout 3 timeline excists 200 years after the war. so radiation should have vleared by now, but in Fallout 3 every bit of wate is irradiated. pretty strange.
Puerto Rico is a territory of the US with commonwealth status, why wouldn't it be hit?gamerguy473 said:What about an island like Puerto Rico? It probably wouldn't have gotten hit.
No, it wouldn't. Half the point of the Fallout series is satirizing the facade of wholesomeness that America had in the 50s that disguised a festering underbelly of fear and the inevitability of doom due to the incompetent, uncompromising nature of the world's super powers. Fallout is as much a criticism of global politics as it is a game, in my opinion.Blizzarded Soul said:I reckon it could work, for example you could set the game in the whole 60's era 'Give Peace A Chance' phase. America was stuck in the 1950's way of living, why couldnt England do something similar but give it a slight spin to keep ideas fresh.TheAbominableDan said:A large part of Fallout's flavour is based on 1950s Americana. So setting it outside of the States wouldn't really work.Blizzarded Soul said:II would love to see a Fallout game set in London, yeah seeing the DC Ruins and the Mojave Wastelands is cool, but I really want to experiance a post apocalyptic game in England, also wandering through the deserted corridors of Buckingham Palace or The House Of Commons would be pretty cool.
Because the United States annexed Canada at the start of the war.jamradar said:Canada. Seriously why would the Chinese or the Americans nuke Canada.

Probably true , but it's funnier to argue about this.Crumpet Man said:It's less a matter of where didn't get nuked, and more a matter of where wasn't affected by the fallout.
Corruption is an inevitable part of human society.ArkhamJester said:I want to see Fallout: Operation Rebirth, what is it you may ask? Well humanity has been in the crapper for a while, I want to see SOMEONE actually try to rebuild society (probably in Brazil), not a guerrilla style organization like everyone else. I don't expect a happy, sunshine, and farts ending, but SOMEONE actually creating a half decent town that doesn't have some giant jackass pulling the strings. And you know what, that person could be you, in fact that should be what the next fallout is about, building and defending your own town and ruling over it as you please.
lulsters, canada is annexed by the us in the fallout history. (tho by now probably somebody else pointed it out)jamradar said:Canada. Seriously why would the Chinese or the Americans nuke Canada.
[small] But its still probably fucked up from the radiation. [/small]
Actually, I'm pretty sure Canada got annexed by America before the war for resources, so it probably got nuked too.jamradar said:Canada. Seriously why would the Chinese or the Americans nuke Canada.

Indeed, one thing you must always remember about fallout is that it runs on the (and correct me if I get this wrong) science fiction 50's idea of SCIENCE! not actual science.DazBurger said:Yes, but does radiation turn people into Ghouls? No, therefore we must conclude that these weren't traditional nukes that was used, but rather the more magical pixie-dust.Altorin said:according to wikipedia, depending on the isotope of plutonium it ranges from 84 years (238pu) to 8,080,000 years (244pu).Icarion said:Not if America and china had miltary bases thereNimbus said:Europe? Do you know the halflife of plutonium? I mean neither do I but you should check that out if you want to make cliams like that.John the Gamer said:But the fallout 3 timeline excists 200 years after the war. so radiation should have vleared by now, but in Fallout 3 every bit of wate is irradiated. pretty strange.
If it's the 84 year halflife isotope, most of the radiation present in fallout would dissipate in about 200 years. *shrug*
And as you may know, these bombs radiation wont disperse until its convenient to do so.
That's key to the diverging timelines (ours and theirs) we focused on advancing computer science and the microchip, they focused on the advancement of nuclear technology. It's a game based on retro tech, I don't think they are terribly worried about realism and accuracy. So, you want, in basic, a city builder strategy game, set in fallout? Yeah, I'd buy that. Just have to make sure you did it right. Might I suggest a scale similar to Children of The Nile?ArkhamJester said:I want to see Fallout: Operation Rebirth, what is it you may ask?
