Canada did that because if war against Russ means bombs flying over Canada's head.
But it depend on how China launch their bombs, If it doesn't go through Canada, I think Canada would rather stay out.

Because Canada never really existed, it was annexed by the US, and so, was a territory of the United States.

But the fallout 3 timeline excists 200 years after the war. so radiation should have vleared by now, but in Fallout 3 every bit of wate is irradiated. pretty strange.

Actually no. Radiation of that magnitude would stick around for at least a millennium. Check out Dr. Kaku's take on it.

I mean, its pretty much intact, a nuclear bomb will not just break a couple chucks o' wall and a few buildings.

Antarctica. But like everybody else is saying, the whole world was covered in radiation.
Also, to people saying Fallout in another country would be cool, I disagree, because one of the main themes of Fallout is that it's like a retro 50's style wasteland. The (destroyed) cars, the music, the hatred, it's the 50's.

Im sure someone woulod have taken Antartica for the oil fields (I think there are some) By now.

I can think of a few places where nukes may not have hit...

South America, The better part of Australia (Although they would only have no nuke Sydney and we would be screwed), Eastern Russia (Siberia) Eastern Europe, and parts of Africa.

If New Vegas lore is anything to go by, it is almost certain that most citys have certain Laser Defence Systems.

Im thinking that when the nukes are sailing over to Washington, they managed to shoot down the ones that would have directly hit the city.

Ones still hit the outskirts of the city, however (See, Megaton) and this was enough to do massive damage to the city.

It is possible that additional damage was inflicted by varios looters and after-war mutants.
