Why is this considered newsworthy?

It's one of the most obnoxious Tumblr bandwagons to plague the Homestuck fandom in ages.
And that's fucking saying something.

This isn't something planned, it's just the result of the Tumblr part of the Homestuck fandom bursting with people who will jump at any bandwagon they see in the hope of getting as many likes/reblogs as possible without having to do much creative thinking themselves.
"Someone came up with a popular idea? MUST COPY. MUST COPY. MUST COPY."

This. Seriously, they're not "bored" either. This is just a giant-ass bandwagon that most people have jumped on. This "don't let the homestuck fandom get bored" thing pisses me off, because it's only been a week since the last update. One of the comic's biggest flash movies took nearly two months of no updates to make and absolutely nothing of note happened during that time.

And this is why the Homestuck fandom is still playing second fiddle to the Touhou fandom. Whereas one makes fake screenshots of an anime, the other just makes an anime. Normally I wouldn't care too much about this. Not like the Homestuck fandom hasn't come up with some stupid ideas and ran with them before. This would just be another one of those and there's no reason for me to be upset about it.

The only thing that irks me though is the poor 'translation' into anime. Once again, the 'fervent' fandom can't seem to get their favorite characters down right. No, they aren't all a bunch of kawaii anime characters uguu~. They are mostly a bunch of dysfunctional assholes of different measures.

I'm pretty sure that at least SOME of those kawaii uguu~ screenshots are parodying the parts of the fandom that do think the characters are like that, as well as parodying anime in general.
