It goes well. In this year 1901 AD, Turkey is at peace with its neighbours and is beginning to share in the spoils of the Industrial Revolution. Things are looking good for the Ottoman Empire. What could possibly go wrong?

when are orders due? I'm not really sure yet.
Orders are due sometime this afternoon (afternoon at GMT-5, if you're in another time-zone it'll be differant). I didn't set a specific time because you're all new at this and could use some deadline leeway.

I still need orders from...wesdabigman, Logician, and you. Get 'em to me ASAP, people!

It is the Spring of 1901. The Glorious Austro-Hungarian Empire is enjoying the industrial revolution and not having the heir to its throne assassinated. She extends the olive branch of harmony to all its European neighbors, hoping for peace in this new century.

It is the spring of 1901, and war is brewing in Europe. Armies gather, fleets steam out
of harbor, and the seasons turn as they always have...

Well, it was a little shaky there at the last, but everyone made it. The results today are a
little late for two reasons: 1) some people were a bit late with their orders, and 2) I'm
posting this from my laptop, the computer of the erratic internet connection.

My technical issues aside, I'd have to say that this was an interesting first turn. I spread
out a newbie net and gave a bit of advice to those who turned their orders in with mistakes. This seems to be the first time most of you have played, so I'm willing to forgive a few mistakes here and there.

And now, here are the results of the first turn.

Italy

A Ven-Tyr --Bounced by A Mun-Tyr 2-1--
A Rom-Ven
F Nap-Tyrr

Austria

A Vie S A Mun-Tyr
A Budapest-Serbia
F Trieste-Adriatic Sea

Turkey

F Ank-Bla
A Con-Bulgaria
A Smyrna-Con

Germany

F Kiel-Hol
A Ber-Kiel
A Mun-Tyr

England

F Lon-Eng
F Edi-Nor
A Lvp-Yor

Russia

Fleet Sevastopol to Rumania
Army Moscow to Ukraine
Fleet St Petersburg to Livonia
Army Warsaw holds

France

Fleet Brest Hold
Army Paris Hold
Army Marseilles Hold

It is now Fall of 1901. At the end of this turn supply centers will be formally captured,
armies and fleets will be built, and the game will really get underway.

Orders are due Wednesday afternoon, October 8. Do not be late. The newbie net won't catch you forever...

The wheels are set in motion...

-Spring, 1901, Austro-Hungarian Emperor delivers the following statement-
"Last week an explosive device was detonated in the Austrian Embassy in Rome. The ambassador, his wife and four children were killed along with the visiting German ambassador. The perpetrators were not apprehended. Furthermore, the Italian government has still denied us our rights to a colony in Tunisia, even in the light of this tragic occurrence. Although Kaiser BoVinE and myself strived for a peaceful resolution with Italy, it quickly became evident that the only acceptable outcome would arrive via conflict. Also realising this, Italian Army units based in Venice made for a preemptive strike against Munich through Tyrolia. The German Munich Army and the Austro-Hungarian Viennese Army must be commended on the quick response, forcing the foreign aggressors back before they had done any real damage.

To the government of Italy: I implore Italy to do the right thing, admit fault for the Embassy bombings, cede Tunisia to us and quit your supply centers. A quick, decisive end to the conflict with the least amount of bloodshed is what we can hope for, and what you can give your people by surrendering. If you wish to further their suffering and prolong your eventual defeat, then keeping fighting, but you only bring destruction upon yourself.

To the other great nations of Europe: I ask that you remain aloof of this conflict. It is a slight against Germany and ourselves that we must handle in our own way."
-The address was made at the Imperial Palace, more details as they arrive-

...And thus history changes.

The year 1901 comes to a close, with nations occupied, armies battling to a standstill, and a deceptive calm settling over Europe.

This is what happened in the year before the great war.

Before we can start the next turn you all need to send me your build orders. For each build you can construct either a fleet or an army in one of your home centers.

Send your build orders to me as soon as possible. As soon as I have everybody's I will post the updated map and the Spring 1902 turn will begin.

PM me any questions, don't trust your allies, and godspeed your orders.

(By the way, Shanks--that telecorresponcance post was excellent)

We got all the builds within a day! Most excellent.

Gentlemen, it is now Spring of 1902.

Interesting, eh? Armies muster, fleets are constructed, and the year turns...

Next orders are due on Sunday, preferably earlier than that. If I have all the orders in advance then I can just construct the post, wait and see if there's any last-minute changes, and then post it at a reasonable hour.

It's not quite world war, but it's getting there.

Now...now is when things get interesting.

Good luck. Trust me, you'll need it.

EDIT: So it seems I forgot to put one of the armies on the map. It has been brought to my attention and corrected. Carry on with your plotting.

Orders are due today, gentlemen. So far I've got orders from Spartan, Chomesuke, and Shanks. Everybody else has yet to send me a message. I'd appreciate recieving them sometime soon, hey? Otherwise I'll have to decide between delaying the results so the late guys can get their orders in or telling them that their country is in a state of civil unrest. And nobody wants that.

Little question, what does that do, civil unrest?
Couldn't find it in the wikipedia rules, and can't open PDF files.
