Has it occurred to anyone that the problem might be with the capabilities of the PS3 hardware?
You're kidding right?

The PS3 has the best hardware out of all the consoles. It's problem is it's complex architecture. Which means sometimes lazy developers port it from the 360 version (which is easier to make) and that leads to a whole host of problems later on.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but don't be a fanboy.
(To avoid confusion, I'm a new guy, not the one you quoted)

I know the PS3 has more powerful hardware, but I don't think it's the fact that the developers are lazy, it's that the PS3 is a labyrinth of unnecessary confusion and confounding functions that make it much harder than it needs to be for developers.

I don't know the specifics, but this was coming from my GSD (Game Software Development) professor who has a PHD (I can't remember exactly what she has a PHD in, because I'm not sure what PHD's are available that are related to Game Design, but I know for a fact it was relevant) so I'm inclined to believe it.
Game designers are figuring how to work with the system and Sony is being much nicer to anybody wanting to make bug fixes, updates, and use what ever system inside the game they want. Microsoft demands payment for any use of their system and all added content must take the form of DLC (why Valve jumped from the 360 to the PS3 as their console of choice). However, there still is a long road ahead for developers.

Wait, the PS3 version doesn't have split-screen multiplayer?

Well thats lame.
It does. That guy's talking out of his ass.

On topic: Oh Boo-hoo, cry me a river. If you want to complain about an actual broken game, try talking to Obsidian.
Are you the guy we can ***** to about Fallout: New Vegas not living up to the standards of Fallout 3?

Take a seat, this is going to be a while...
No, no. I actually like Fallout: New Vegas, only when it decided to stop crash every 3 hours and allow me to play.

Hah that's typical to come from a console gamer that hasn't done their homework. Multiplatform games almost always end up cheaper and better on the PC platform; whether it be dedicated servers, modding potential or graphics - PC gamers still pay less for their superior games.

This has more to do with that certain type of PS3 douche who thinks graphics are everything. There are always slight differences for the same game on different platforms but in no way is the game unplayabe. Im sure any differences are only noticable if you played it side by side with a 360.

The petitioner needs to grow up.
Why would someone have a console if they cared about graphics?

Because internet petitions work 100% of the time and are totally valid.

If the ps3 version suffered it is because the bigger percentage of online players will be on the 360.

I do second that opinion, i simply bought a ps3 to sample the games on the other side of the spectrum and i'll say i'm something of a convert as there's little on the xbox i cna't get on the ps3 and being more of a single player and an occasional onliner, free oneline and the prospect of Demon's Souls is very nice shiny one for me.

Given if you don't like a game because it wans't as good as the other, you go back to the other. Simples *meerkat squeak*

Really, it's the Wii version that gets the short end of the stick on this one. That and almost every port of any game.
Even I forgot about this port, and I'm usually browsing to look for some good releases.

Maybe he could shut up and stop wining about his lag and find a much worse PS3 game, like Sonic 06...

For all the people saying "There is split screen, he is just whinning", at least get your facts together. YES, there is multiplayer split scree on PS3, but people are complaining because you have to be on a GUEST ACCOUNT, but 360 users can use a SEPARATE ACCOUNT. PS3 doesn't have "hardware issues" because a few other games have done it too. That's seems pretty messed up if you ask me.

I for one own the game for PS3, and i have played the game on a friends 360. PS3 users did get the short end of the stick, and I'm sure PC and Wii users did too. For PS3, there is constant lag, low frame rate, we can BARELY get into a game, even with local search on which is also broken, parties being constantly broken up, host being given to person with bad connection causing everyone in lobby to get 1-2 bars, etc. But on my friends 360, most of these problems were never seen at all.

This petition is really about how Activision/Treyarch charged the same price for PS3 users when it was clearly inferior to 360.

Hell, I'm pretty sure if any of you people were experiencing these problems, you would be mad too..

You know, we Wii owners of this game aren't complaining. We don't have custom emblems or red dots,Split Screen Online Multiplayer and we are having a blast.
And it looks damn good too

You do realize having the best/fastest/most awesomenest car is one thing. But when you have to steer it by playing ddr it hurts the whole package right?
Hardly a fitting metaphor.

When a dev learns the architecture it's not that much harder to develop for. And the results will be better.
thats why ps3 exclusives can be amazing, because the devs actually take time to make it for ps3 and get full use out of its better hardware

Begs the question why they aren't just going back to the shop they bought it from and using the age old "it's shit, I want my money back," argument.

Done politely it never fails. Although this way has far more drama for the Llama.
It might work for Walmart or Target, but Gamestop doesn't accept returns on new games unless they're defective. He'd get $20 bucks for it.
As I work at Wal-Mart the best you can get is another copy of the EXACT same game. That's even if it's defective. They can only be returned unopened.
Edit: I haven't seen any bugs, just a bland forgettable FPS as anyone would've expected.

Not trying to start any wars here, but honestly, the Wii's hardware and software is a little worse then the 360's and PS3's.

And...these PS3 owners are complaining why again? Oh right. And mind you because of what you said..Wii owners aren't complaining. Just the PS3 owners.

There is only one proper response to this:
CCCCCRRRRYYYYY SSSSOOOOMMMMEEEEEE MMMMMMOOOOOOOORRRRRRREEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You spent your 50 bucks buying the thing now deal with it. Don't clog the legal system with your whining because you think the game was better on the X-box. Take your spoiled brat self and STFU and GTFO.

He really thinks Activision will give 'em their money back. Ha! And this is why I'll never get into the Call of Duty hype.

The petition starter said that the PS3 version of Black Ops was riddled with bugs, had inferior graphics and fewer of the features that the Xbox 360 version had. He said Activision's advertising had been misleading, as it suggested that the game would be uniformly good on all platforms, and thought that it was unfair to charge the same price for all versions, when one was clearly inferior. To support his claims, he quoted articles from CVG [http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=275135] and Product-Reviews.Net [http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/10/28/call-of-duty-black-ops-ps3-version-has-been-gimped/], which stated that the PS3 version lacked the split screen online multiplayer of the 360, and suffered from graphical problems like screen tear and low frame rates.
Sad thing is he's lying. I've been able to play split screen on my PS3 since launch
