That's a really good question. If you could get away before the guard had time to recover from being possessed, that would look very shifty. You'd practically be framing someone else if you killed a target as a guard.

This game is gonna go down in the books, if they pull it off nicely. And so far, everything looks quite spiffy!

Yeah I think so. But from what I read if the character you're possessing dies, you die as well. Just keep that in mind.

I for one am very much looking forward to this Deus Ex-alike(?).
It's looking very promising so far, and the art direction is right up my alley.

Dishonored is looking to be quite an excellent game. Both playthroughs were pretty good. I may possess one of the targets and use him to kill the other target.

Nice to see that the gameplay trailer seems to be living up to the pre-rendered trailer.

I am really excited about this game.

I believe you can however if you are killed while in possession of someone I believe you die as well or at the very least are ejected from their body forcing you out into the open. I remember an earlier interview where they brought up players using rats to sneak through holes and such and the guards trying to kill the player by stepping on them.

edit: bah someone beat me to it.

I don't want to get my expectations too high up but this game really looks really good. It's not the first time that I've thought that and then been disappointed but I also don't want to be all cynical.
Probably a day one buy or maybe I'll change my mind and wait for a couple reviews.

I think that my favorite thing about this game, besides the awesome powers, is that you can play through it without even killing your targets, if you do it correctly. That's something you don't see often in a game about assassination... or most other games now that I think about it.

If I posses a guard with a gun, shoot at another guy and leave the possesed guy behind a corner so that the rest doesn't see me coming out, will they still be attacking the guard?

That would be epic. Just imagine agroing all guards on one poor bastard and just walking away while they kill him.

Living up to it? The way I see it this has surpassed the pre rendered trailer. Why did that have? Some parkor, a jump stab, some sword fighting, stopping time and a gun.

This has all of that, plus non lethal takedowns, teleportation, the ability to make deaths look like an accident, ability to avoid killing your targets all together, the ability to summon rats and the ability to possess FISH!...really what more could you want?

I'm curious how wide spread the super powers will be. Will we be getting teleporting enemies? Will we get possessed? Seems unfair to not give anyone else those skills.

I've seen and heard all this before...I'm going to hold out on this one. My gut is telling me that there's a big negative point somewhere in this game.

By the sound of things, some of the guards were actually talking about your character. And if people are talking about you, typically someone, somewhere is trying to figure out a way to beat you. Perhaps, depending on how often you're viewed by enemies who don't die, they'll start creating countermeasures.

I wouldn't be surprised if at some point in the game, enemies figure out how to negate some of your abilities. Like killing your rats near instantly with pesticides, blocking entrances for things like fish, pressure plates alarms/traps for your shoot range teleport, or perhaps ways to drain your mana/block you off from your powers completely.

If anything I cant wait to do the stealth run through.

Knowing that no matter what you place in the assassins path they will get you.
Also I plan on possessing a mook and just waltzing right through the entire level if I can.
Or just making said mook run up and slap another guard, and then leave him to be killed.

Also did the mana meter recharge?

Meh, video games have been making claims like this for years, and to date it's never been anything surprising or interesting. I'll be impressed if it actually delivers.

I'll be skipping this title either way, as it's not at all my thing, but I'll still give credit where it's due, if it's due.

Only for Blink, I'm pretty sure. It's the only power that is completely cost free.

For those people complaining about some of the spells looking over powered, look at the video again. The fish possession at the beginning burned through three quarters of player's mana. While I'm sure mana potions are abundant enough to use it regularly, there is probably a very definite limit to how frequently you can use it.
