Honestly, when people heard he was found dead, did ANYBODY not instantly think right away "it was probably drugs".

I'm really wondering how the pro-drug crowds feel about now, what with all these stars dying from addictions.

On another note, I'm guessing he didnt get his "morning wake up call".
Get it? See what i did there?

Is it too soon?

I don't know, i guess i'm an ass.

Who?

And why the monkey is there gonna be a DJ hero?
It was coming. If they were going to cash in on Guitar music, they were going to go after the next most popular music genre and that was rap.

Goldstein's history of drug abuse was well documented and let to a failed suicide attempt in 1997.
Don't you mean "lead to a failed suicide attempt"?

-PEDANTIC PISSING OVER-

But ya, if I hadn't read this post, I could've gone and played the game and not even known it was based on a real person.

Still unfortunate to hear the guy's dead, but if he did drugs etc then it's kind of his own fault. Too bad too, this game surely would've given him quite a bit of notoriety.

Right now in his Doom Fortress, Bobby Kotick is laughing maniacally and tenting his fingers.

In all seriousness... Meh. Never heard of him anyway. I don't think anybody is looking forward to DJ Hero anyway.

A crack pipe? Seriously? This is a guy who dated Nicole Richie, Mandy Moore, and hung with Blink 182, and he was a crackhead? I've done the stuff myself, and I know it's nothing to scoff at, but it just goes to show that these people with all the money and noteriety in the world for the most part are pretty depressed people.

All the resources this guy had to get clean, the support of millions, and he couldn't do it. It's really sad.

Goldstein will appear in DJ Hero, which is released on October 27th, as a playable character. Tim Riley, the Activision vice president of music affairs, issued a brief statement on word of Goldstein's death: "We are deeply saddened by the loss of DJ AM. We hope that his work on the game will be a fitting tribute to his creative spirit and musical talent."
Translation:

"We're not at all sad about people dying, so long as we can still use their assets to accrue money.
Gonna milk this situation for all it's worth!"
