People will always find something to complain about. If they'd left him alone, instead it'd be bitching about how Dante still looks like he always has.dathwampeer said:It's pretty obvious isn't it?
Dante is pretty much just hitting demon puberty.
That's why his hair is starting to change and no doubt in a few year's he'll have bulked up a little too, and changed his clothes. People can do that you know. Even half demon people.
As for personality... We don't know anything about it. He said all of one word. He's obviously still got his rebellious, nonchalant *ahem* devil may care attitude. He fuckin noogied a demon with a lit cig.
Honestly. All you whiners are beginning to get on my udders with this.
At-least let the game come out before screaming that the world has come to a bitchy, emo stop.
The thing is though, it's not a reboot if it's canon with the rest of the timeline, it's a prequel. I'm happy at that because all of the story they've actually developed and questions they've raised might actually get answered...Cheery Lunatic said:I AM HAPPY WITH THE REBOOT. D:
First of all, his appearance fits the timeline. He watched his mother be killed by demons when he was only 8, and he thought his brother met the same fate as well. He then has to grow up on his own, in FEAR. Apparently, he's also been tortured by some unknown government-like entity. Forgive the dude for not being a happy little ray of sunshine as a teenager. You can also see a splotch of white on the top of his haid... I'm willing to bet his hair will be all white by the end of the game. So far, stylistically he's still the same Dante.
Also, the whole "smoking" issue. It's pretty lame that Kamiya's initial design (who btw, never came up with the DMC3 or DMC4 Dante) just had Dante be so deadset against smoking for no apparent reason except "it's bad, kidz" (it just feels a bit hypocritical considering he kills demons for a living). Perhaps the reboot will shed light on how he comes to loath the whole schbang.
On a side note, I think it's clever they named the city Limbo.
I'm glad Capcom's finally had the balls to announce that DmC is cannon.
Dammit, I think this is the longest post I've ever made on the Escapist.
Actually, Raiden was hated because he was a whiney, boring prick who spent more time arguing with his girlfriend than stealthing.teh_Canape said:this shit also happened with MGS2, which got shat all over because of Raiden being physically feminine looking,
which really, it made him a more realistic character if you ask meMiracleOfSound said:Actually, Raiden was hated because he was a whiney, boring prick who spent more time arguing with his girlfriend than stealthing.
Um...pretty sure they did. It's before.poiumty said:You're easy to please.NeutralDrow said:WOO HOO!
Finally, a piece of good news. Now, we just need some actual gameplay footage, and I have a very good chance of being happy with this.
My biggest question was if this happened before or after DMC3, which THEY DIDN'T ANSWER. Seriously Ninja Theory, fuck you guys.
I do agree actually, problem is a lot gamers don't want realistic, they want someone badass and interesting!teh_Canape said:which really, it made him a more realistic character if you ask meMiracleOfSound said:Actually, Raiden was hated because he was a whiney, boring prick who spent more time arguing with his girlfriend than stealthing.
but I'm pretty sure you wont, so eh, that's just my opinion
I followed this trail of thought at first, but interviews of the devs themselves indicated that this is in fact, THE Dante.ImprovizoR said:If they claim that this new DmC is canon than I'm 99% sure that guy from the teaser trailer wasn't the actual Dante.
