Didn't want to start a whole thread for one request:

Can someone make me a level 7 fighter for my party to kill? I'm DMing a game, but I'm not very good at making NPCs with stats. He has to be a Neutral Good Human Male, and he's a ship's captain, so he should reflect that. I need it by Sunday night, so if anyone can make one by then that would be wonderful. You can PM me or just post here.

I'm starting to get into the Call of Cthulhu game. I like writing up a few scary stories so this is a blast. It's great because there's less fighting and more running. Most (if not all) monsters can pretty much dice you up so there's not much point trying to kill them, just suck on your own gun.
Good points are that you have a Sanity meter and can go batshite insane which is full of fun stuff like Phobias, Amnesia, etc. And it's all set in the swinging 20's, full of gun play and clue finding.

I'll give it a go, Larenxis, but I'm from the "get to the goddamn game" school of DnD thought. Statting things up isn't my thing and hasn't been since my GW years.

I've been playing for almost a year now and I dm too. I play bards mostly but I also like a good fighter.

Anyone else enjoy DnD? Its like Neverwinter nights but cooler =)

It IS Neverwinter Nights, considering the game is based off of the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting.
I've been playing the game since I was five years old... my dad's a bit of a geek, lol. He's a mod at DnDgamer.com, actually... and was DnD Gamer of the Year two years in a row (06 & 07).

How do you guys feel about 4.0? I mean, seriously, eliminating Gnomes as a base class and bringing in Tieflings instead? That's just odd as hell- not everybody played Forgotten Realms to even be familiar with the Tiefling, and Gnomes are a staple in any fantasy game.

EDIT: Now that I've read and seen that people are interested in playing online, I guess I have to do some shameless advertising- head over to DnDGamer.com [http://www.dndgamer.com]- but you really have to be serious about keeping up with an online game. They'll boot you if you remain inactive for a while (as I learned the hard way, darn my having a life). It's free and there are tons of different campaign settings and stuff to check out, as well as newbie tutorials for those who haven't played.

The NPC Generators that my DM uses are seriously bad... we once caught her playing an NPC whose INT was so low that the character shouldn't have been able to string words into a sentence. I think the INT score was 4 or 5. When we told her that her character couldn't possibly function in the manner she wanted it to, she started paying more attention, lol.

My point was, be careful with generators. Sometimes it's less of a pain to just create a character yourself, lol.

I allways give a quick read over the NPCs to make sure that doesnt happen.. Like.. If I wanna make a fighter NPC I punch in all the stuff and make sure his strengh is high enough. Gens have saved me soo much time its not funny =P

I gotta learn more about hacking in Shadowrun. But from what I see you can't let me do it on my own like last play. The DM (GM?) needs to actually draw it out like a fight. Instead of enemies I fight firewalls and agents. It could get complicated but it would be really fun if next time people got into it. As for Cthulhu, (insert other friend here) and I were disscussing Thursday nights maybe?

thats was one memorable line from a Nazi that was maquerading as the GM at the time, found myself gravitating to the D20 system with things such as Vampire, Werewolf, and alike

also allways had a soft spot for Call of cthulu (spelt wrong i know)anyone else play that?

What's wrong with 4th Ed? I mean... it does look like a slightly watered down version of DnD, so that the idea is that it's easier to get into, easier to start, etc, but I reckon that'll be a good starting point before you move people into 3.5.

Im grumpy cos they are taking away the two things I adore.. Gnomes and Bards. There is a lot more to that like.. Why do they need to change it so soon after 3rd/3.5? Why are they releasing the rules in three seperate sets? Why is Dragonborn a race?

To me, DnD is supposed to represent an archetypal kind of fantasy setting in its core books. Not Dragonborns and Tieflings and cool maneouvres given to every class so that they don't need to ever use their base attack. While supplements tend to drive the game towards kooky fantasy and whacked out powers the core book should be a bastion of standard fantasy. I don't want Dragonborn and Tieflings in my PHB; I want them in my themed supplements where they make more sense to the setting. I don't want kewl powerz; I want to hit them with my goddamn sword, or figure out an inventive way to kill the enemy.
