Do we really need a 320GB PS3?

Haha, of course not! But it's expansion, it happens everywhere. Urban development, for example. More and more cities are being built, and they grow fast. It's human! We want more. That's why anyone would 'need' so much memory. I myself am in love with my PS3.

Also, do we even need a PS3 in the first place?

Why didn't they make it a 360gig drive? That way people could say they bought a PS3 360 version, and all sorts of tomfoolery and confusion would explode on the internet.

320GB PS3 is a good deal for someone who haven't bought a PS3 yet, like me. The storage needed for games is not as much as i think it would, but i use most of the space for animes, movies, songs and photos.

Also the price is pretty reasonable.

when i was thirteen i remember people were saying that no person on earth would need more than a gig for their mp3 players and look at how much space you can get now
i will note that i am in my early twenties now

so more people want the security of knowing that they can hold everything ever put onto a computer to be on their gaming system.

I dont think anyone needs 360 gigs of Harddrive space on their PS3, but with the ability to swap a new harddrive easily enough, and I remember seeing a 500gig hardrive for less than $100, I dont see a reason to buy a 360 gig harddrive, since im going to assume that they will charge even more for it.

Also, unrelated to the question, but because we are talking about PS3s. I have two PS3, both are slims and both have 120 gig HD. One is new and costs $299, the other is used (Refurbished) and costs $259. Im going to buy one of these, which should I buy? The new one? or the used one, giving me some extra money to spend on games?
Get the new one its only $30 more and then you don't hve to worry that the console you just bought might have problems with it.

That's what people said about the 250GB 360. I have 20GB left on mine now. I need MOAR SPACE!
Heh, yeah. It took me just over a month to have less than 100MB left on my 1TB external hard drive.

I think it usually depends. If it's a 2USB PS3 there's nothing terribly suspicious about trading it in for store credit, but a 4USB raises some red flags. I am a little puzzled though as to why someone would trade a Slim in given there really hasn't been a significant upgrade - did the guy see the new Xbox 360 S and go for that instead?

I upgraded my ps3 to 300 gigs a long time ago when the original hard drive was nearly full. I think it is better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it, that's also the reason my computer has three terabytes.
