Do you consider yourself intelligent?

We all know that 'ol saying. The Escapist is the only place in the entire interwebz to have an intelligent conversation. So, do you consider yourself an intellectual of your age group? The smartest in a sea of stupidity?

Me? I don't really consider myself all that smart. At best, above average. But I really don't don't talk like I'm some smartass. Even if I was just being hard on myself, I really don't think I'm smarter than most people. Obviousley there are exceptions, but all in all I'm not that kind of guy.

I'd like to think I am pretty intelligent.
I am at a fairly high rated college in the US, and have gone through my school system in the highest possible classes, without ever trying too hard or studying too much. Yes, I am one of those cocky kids that does great and never tries.
In terms of street smarts, I have enough common sense to not do anything too fucking stupid. And in terms of people skills, I have met and interacted with more than enough people to be good at socializing.

I think I'm pretty smart. At least, that thought makes me feel good about myself, so I continue to think it. Whether or not it's true is not something I really care about. I'm me, and me being classified as intelligent or not doesn't make any difference in how I would act, or any actions I would take.

I like to think I'm smarter than I am. Hence the brooding, dark, apathetic outside I present to everyone. Being a teenager also factors in here. (Not that stating that justifies me being brooding, dark, and apathetic, because it definitely does not.)

Looking at my peers, though, I would hope that I am smarter than most of them. It will be a painful realization the day that I see that I am just the same as everyone else.

Edit: Academically, I am smart, but so are a bunch of other people. So much so in fact, that saying I'm academically smart hardly means anything. In terms of actual considering, and relating, and empathizing, though, I like to think I am above average. Especially the empathizing part.

I would have to guess my INT is about 16 while my WIS is only about 12.

But now I'm done randomly quoting semi-philosophical bullcrap, I consider myself quite intelligent...but I've no idea how I managed to get so many A*s at GCSE. I am not a straight-A* candidate.

It depends on your definition of intelligent.

If your definition is just "you know a lot of stuff", then yes, I am intelligent.

However, if you use my definition, which is "You can easily interpret and apply complex concepts", then no, I am that not intelligent.

Yes I do consider myself quite intelligent. I would not consider myself the smartest person in the world but I do think I am quite intelligent at least from an Academic perspective as I usually do quite well in school.

I consider myself to be an idiot with a smart mans brain. In other words: I have a lot of intelligence(I always have really high test scores), but I don't like to use it(bad grades).

I like to think that everybody has more or less the same potential, but its usage is wildly disparate.
Personally, I ponder a bit more than the average person [this is often detrimental, though]. Academically, I'm a C-average student, so go figure.
I'm somewhat neurotic, so that may affect my grades. Retain information quite well, and once I understand something, it tends to stay with me. Must count for something, right?

Abandon that viewpoint as soon as possible. It will not earn you any friends. My grammar is pretty good, and trust me, it's not an indication of intelligence. You do not want to be an elitist prick. Better un-learn that.

Also, doesn't this site have rules about age?
