I consider him completely talentless and, from what I've seen on interviews and public appearences, he's kind of a douchebag. But that's not so different from most teen idols, and it isn't enough for me to hate the guy. He'll be ancient history in a few years anyway, there are far bigger targets for my hate.

My eight-year-old niece, however, used to be a fan and now she hates him with a passion. So I would definitely say hating him is trendy nowadays.

Justin Bieber is utterly harmless. He is popular. Big deal. Before Justin Bieber, there was the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync. We survived them, they didn't kill anyone, we'll get through Bieber fever without iss.

Also, he's 16. Making death threats against a 16 year old just because you heard his music and you don't like it? That's just wrong.

I really detested having the media shoving him down my throat, but that's died down quite a bit, so I guess I'm apathetic now, kinda. His hate base is really annoying. At least I can at least avoid his fan base, but his hate base is fucking everywhere. i don't really hate him i hate what the music industry has done for him, i watched his movie (shut up i lost a dare)and there's actual songs before he was famous, like lady gaga i like what she does but not her music. I also detest it when people say i only hate his music cause its "trendy" or because "i'm Jealous" i'm not , i just don't care about some kid who shouldn't have a career, does and is annoying on every song.

We live in a society where you have the ability to control with absolute discrimination the media that you're exposed to. In public you can put on your earbuds, and at home you can turn the media/tv/computer/radio/stereo/whatever on and off if something on it starts to occur that you do not want to listen to.

This means that NO ONE is forcing you to do anything or consume any media.

However....

The majority of individuals trying to expose me to Justin Bieber consist of the following demographics:

People who claim to hate Justin Bieber.

Actually, that's about it. Which means that the demographic 'People who think Justin Bieber's music is an assault against their ears' have, for some reason, the motivation to share the thing they hate the most.

Let's be honest... there's one solution to make sure you never have to read about Justin Bieber. If you remove the assholes who make JB-hate threads, then there will be no JB hate threads. Then, we don't ever have to encounter JB talk on Escapist.

Meh I don't hate him, never really did. I don't love the musicians who make my favorite music, I love the music they make. Same for him, I don't personally know him, or care about him. But I hate his music.
