Personally, It doesn't bother me if there is noise or not.

Sometimes when I'm around the house I turn on the TV or put on a movie just as background even though I'm not watching it. I just like having some noise around.

Doesn't it ever happen to you that you feel uncomfortable when everything is Silent?

Oh, and also when you are with someone else and there is not a single sound.

Yes. The only time I listen to music is when I feel like hearing Space Jam looped about 20 times.

Yep.

I don't think lulls in conversation are all that bad. Constantly talking would get annoying.

I like the type of silence when there's nothing in particular making noise, but you can hear the world. That's beautiful.

when it is silent it seems like my thoughts have an echo, although on reflection it's probably because of a different reason

I love having quiet around me when I get done with work. There's the sounds of servers, cooks, chopping, ticket machines, guests, pans banging, ovens being slammed, etc surrounding me all day. So that feeling of just grabbing a beer and sitting with my crew after a shift, nobody talking for the first 10 minutes or so. Aaaah...Silence really can be golden.

I enjoy it, to an extent. Do you mean absolute silence, or maybe just laying outside away from streets/people so you can hear nothing but nature?

What I do hate is the fact that a friend of mine conceives any silence as an awkward silence. It's very, very annoying. Our group of friends will stop talking, think for a moment, and after maybe 3 seconds he just says "awkard silence". It's to the point where we've actually yelled at him for it.

I like silence when I'm trying to sleep, or if I'm doing coursework or whatever, then I can really focus.

Other than that, silence is a bit unnatural, Ive always gotta have music playing, or if I'm outside, I like all the noises the animals and the wind and stuff make :D

Mostly I refer to absolute silence, but the nature thing still counts.
