I don't exactly hate my name, but it's kinda plain and, wherever I go, it is RIDICULOUSLY COMMON. In high school I've met at least 5 or 6 other Brian's of various spellings, which is significantly more than the similar names of my other friends. I'm pretty sure I have a decently close relative named Brian too. One of my friends claims to know 7 others, and I've met a few of them too. To top it all off, she's even going out with one of them. I've honestly wished that my name wasn't so common.

If Cthulhu him(it?)self isn't there serving me drinks, I will be awfully disappointed. I do indeed hope you are not setting me up for such a tragic blow.
Kthulhu's the owner/manager. He sometimes drops by to flutter his tentacles in mind raping horror that melts eyes and causes insanity
Sorry, had to correct you.

My name is Alex.

It's alright.

I tell people it's Alexander when I wish to sound commanding.

I never use Al, because it's terrible.

Alex is good enough for most people as a friendly first-term thing. Better than Daniel where you get called Danny by everyone. >.>

Oh heck yes! I'm the first Reuel in here!

EDIT: My girlfriend, on the other hand, hates her name with a passion. Don't know why though.

My name is Alan. I rather like. I looked up the origin of my name. It is funny that it means "rock" and that I am a Capricorn who is a rock sign. I am also very stubborn. I guess it fits me very well. It also seems that the Alani tribes were very warlike. That also fits me very well.

Origin:
Gaelic

Meaning:
Rock

Categories:
Scottish, Celtic, English

Used in:
English speaking countries

Additional info:
The name Alan is of Celtic origin and was introduced to the English by the Breton followers of William the Conqueror. The exact meaning of the name is not entirely known although "rock" seems to be the most probable. There are many variations of this name.

As the English form of Alain, Alan is believed to be related to the Latin Alani, "the Alans", from a people leaving on the shore of the Black Sea.

The Alani were first mentioned in Roman literature in the first century and were described later as a warlike people that specialized in horse breeding. They frequently raided the Parthian empire and the Caucasian provinces of the Roman Empire.

Darcy is uncommon enough for me to take a certain measure of pride in it. The fact that it can also be a girl's name doesn't bother me too much.

Yes, Samuel is a nice name, I just hate it when people call me Sammy. It always makes me feel like they are mocking me, I don't know why, I'm just insecure about it.

My birth name is "Roderick Joseph White" ... but all my life I've been called "Roddie" ... my dad has the same name and same "Roddie" handle. Lately at work (bartender, changed my nametag)and on facebook and whatnot I've changed my name to Roderick. I'm 28... Roddie sounds like a kids name to me and I've always liked Roderick... It just never stuck. Family and close friends will probably always call me Roderick , but hopefully soon most people will call me Roderick.

My birth name is John... It's still legally my name, but even on my credit card it says Ray. It's a little something away from the standard. Ironic part is, my grandpa is also named john and goes by another name as well... But i didn't know this when I started going by ray
