do you think final fantasy VII (7) should be remastered for the play station 3 and 360.

Hellz yeah! I was thinking earlier that I'd love to play FF7, but alas, only have a 360. I'd buy that.
Just use your PC. Go out and buy FFIV from a pawn shop for $5. My toaster can run it.

No, we all know how the damn story ended. We remember the characters, those were some great memories, AT IT'S TIME. I've had enough with VII, DoC blew, Advent Children Complete was awesome, VII the PS1 game I can't even bare to play anymore. Enough is enough already. If you want to remake a Final Fantasy, remake the ones most of the damn population hasn't played. Like VI, V, or I and II for next-gen consoles instead of portable platforms. (VI, IX, ftw.)

/thread.
Is Advent Children Complete different than Advent Children? Cuz I'm pretty sure the Advent Children I saw had no plot and horrible voice acting. In fact, my biggest reason why they shouldn't remake VII is because they'd use the god-awful voice actors from the movie. Between Advent Children, DoC, and their Kingdom Hearts appearances I've already heard them more than enough.
You watched the English version didn't you? Pity.
AC: Complete is much different. You actually get the feeling there is a FREAKING PLOT AND NOT JUST EYE CANDY FOR THE FANGIRLS/BOYS!

I'd recommend it. Just get a Blu-ray player, a Japanese translator, and 30-50 bucks for import costs.

That already requires more effort than I put into most of my community college courses.

In the movie's defense, it was alot easier to watch when switching over to Japanese voices with English subtitles, but there still wasn't much in the area of plot. I'll have to take your word for the Complete edition... or I can stop being a twat and torrent the damn thing.

I'd actually fork over the money to buy a PS3 just to get it, sadly.

Although a couple changes would be required. Aeris would have to be able to brought back to life and Sakamoto Maaya (Aeris's VA) would have to be changed. I'm all for Maaya, but her voice didn't quite jive with me as Aeris.

I like FFVII But remaking would just ruin the nostalgia of playing the game because you know they'd screw it up with horrible voice actors (FFIV) or they'd make Cloud and Vincent ten times more angsty (Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus) or they'd take out the elements that made the game good...like the materia system, finding the gold chocobo, the limit break system, getting the ultimate weapons and limits, and the Golden Saucer...or they'd make you level up the summons using video games (just like they did with Whyt on FFIV.
Totally agree. Trying to take ffvii and turn it into a "this generation" game would ruin it. Releasing it on psn would be nice though.

Why would you want to bring her back to life? That would fuck up everything story wise that comes after it. It would be a completely different game and her death would lose all significance.

i just posted this forum to get some feed back my my idea. i have final fantasy 7 for PS1 and i love it i think the story is grate the charters are cool and the game is just a good game to play. but i think that if they re-made with the exact same game play same story down right down dialogue, but add in PS3 and xbox 360 graphics and some voice acting. i think it would rejuvenate the game and with all the other spin offs as well like the film and the vincent valentine game i think it would be the right move and a good time to do it as well.
Hey, if it opens up the game to another generation it can't be a bad thing. I'd probably buy it. I find the graphics a bit exclusive on the original.
Wasn't there talk of this to coincide with the XIII release?

I think it simply boils down to this:
You get the fanboys who get super excited at the mere thought of it.
Then you get the fanboy haters who hate the idea and say, "It will ruin the nostalgia" or something like that or "They need to work on other games" or "PS3 is backwards compatible". Or some other comment that isn't really thought out....
Firstly, it wont ruin the Nostalgia... if you don't want to play it, don't... We aren't Forcing you to play it, it was just asked if you would like it, some said no, some said no then went forward to show that everyone elses views are dumb and the idea is horrible... Then there is the thing about making other games or it would cost a lot of money... any game costs LOADS of cash, even thoughs that make barely ANY money... It also wouldn't take 10 years... if it does go by the name, "remake" that would mean they up the graphics, improve translations and how it runs... as in, it is smoother and stuff and things load quicker, etc... maybe add a Voice over because there are very few games nowadays (big games) that don't have SOME kind of voice over, even if it is just grunts and stuff...
Then the whole "PS3 is backwards Compatible" the problem with that comment is that... well not EVERYONE owns the game... there may be new blood that were too young for when it came out, and it is no longer made and they don't trust eBay. Even if they just re-release it as it was/is just on PS3 that would be fine... It would also take less discs. Sure nearly everyone has played the game, but a 10 year-old PS3 owner who is a key gamer may want to play it to see what the past was like and Emulators are too much of a problem...
Anywho, I can see this getting a lot of tl;dr I just wanted to try and stop all this hate and how people are putting others views down with negativity etc (Yes, I am slightly a bit of a Final Fantasy Fanboy... but then I've only played 7 and 9 2 and 1.5 times... and they are my favourites)

No, it was lame first time around. I don't like anything about it, bar some of the character designs, and I don't really like the way they were drawn first time around.

I'll admit, I've been spoiled by fancy graphics and while I can enjoy old games on hand helds and PCs, console games from the past seem kinda...jarring to me. Which is too bad, because from what I hear FFVII kicks 9 kinds of ass. So, assuming they keep everything storyline wise, item wise etc. the same, just using the unholy levels of video quality we know Square to be capable of outputting when they want to, not only yes but the better question would be why not? I mean, surely there are plenty of people out there who had trouble getting into it entirely even though they expect it to be quite good (or perhaps those people who won't play it because of the graphics and could care less about the story. Lot's of those)? That's a big market. I'd love that....

Keep the overworld map, and just get the character models from Kingdom hearts and it would be fine.

No, i think square enix needs to stop making final fantasy 7 spin-offs before the only thing people remember FF7 for is a series of unimpressive spin-offs rather than the original classic for ps1. Plus, it's FF6's turn for a remake

Numerically, it is actually time for FF 5... which I enjoyed... Then it would be 6...

People can say whatever they want, it is impossible to deny that FFVII was very influential when it launched, and is still remembered fondly by many gamers. This is quite enough to deserve a remake in my opinion.

Games expanded beyond FFVII as of today (although most modern games aren't as good) and I'd like to see such a good RPG catch up with next gens, if only to see how a new audience would react to it.

I really loved the game but JESUSCHRIST! let it rest in peace. More so, i believe the FF7 cow has run dry on milk.
