Do you think it is piracy to use Cheat Engine on a F2P game to get otherwise paid content?

Have you ever read any kind of software license agreement? I'm pretty sure most of them have a clause that says you're not allowed to tamper with the product, and modifying runtime data outside of normal use sounds like tampering. You don't just void your warranty like if you took apart a Gameboy, you lose your right to use the software.

They aren't the same thing, but are much closer as regards morality than piracy and theft so I'd not quibble about the difference.

Where it becomes more interesting is if the game isn't free to play, but has microtransactions anyway. If I buy Assassins Creed Unity (Hey it's just a hypothetical okay?) and decide it's a massive ball-ache to save 1.5 million moneys for a new sword is it equivalent piracy to use cheat engine to gift myself 1.5 million money? What if I gave myself 200 magic money gems for the same purpose?
