I only have two words to say about this... No I do not.

I don't really care how much people gather about me on-line. I'm not one to hide. If there was anything anyone wanted to know, all they'd have to do is ask. Have a feeling some people on this site probably think I'm too open, but oh well.

I agree with the minimal information - just look at teh hackers movie - Cereal Killer says that your name goes through a computer about 17 times a day - today that figure would be at least 800-1000, if your information is on the internet someone has teh skill to access it.

I can barely trust anybody with personal informtion online. And I stopped right around when I found out what happened to Boxxy.

That's the perfect example of why you shouldn't trust the internet. That's almost certainly not true.

It's not on a single respectable site. Not even as an honourable mention.

I'm reluctant to put what country I live in, let alone where I live precisely or when my birhtday is. So to sum up, no, I don't trust the internet.

I'm pretty easy to track with my account name, and there's no doubt countless bits of info about me everywhere online. And 90% is probably not even put there by me. As for googling my name, well, Google is pretty sure I've misspelled anyway ^-^
And let's face it, what are people going to do with my info?
Add me to their various accounts?
Oh God help me..

I trust the internet, but not all of the people, or companies for that matter (Fakebook, I'm looking at you)

You really shouldnt expose any information about yourself on the internet as anyone can access it. That is good universities will check up anything they can find on you, and also everytime you go on a website, the websites you visit get logged. I had a C.I.A. agent talk to my class a while back when I was in school and he said that they have government server computers that search through forums and msn messenger looking for words like "Osama Bin Laden" to check to see if they can collect on any good information.

People don't want to be accountable for their actions. It's as simple as that. Being overly open with private information in such a public forum makes you an easy target for groups like Anonymous (think Mitchell Henderson/An Hero incident).

What were you hoping to acheive, if I may ask? That's a line I probably wouldn't cross, because what's the point? Either you're gonna go beat the guy up, or just troll him on other forums.

Here's a protip, though. Do a search for your email, and check out the results. If there's nothing on there you wouldn't want a potential employer to see, you should go ahead and create a business email. I just did mine, and google shows another place I'm registered, and the top banner ad is "banging brides". It's not even a porn site, but people are quick to make judgements.

Honestly, I was just curious about the guy. I know that actually goading him about his embarrassing online actions could be deemed somewhat anti-social by the Mods, so I held back. Still, it was at least nice to know that he was far from as spotless as he was making out out.

As for the alt email, I now have that covered. :)

I don't trust it, but I don't distrust it. I keep it at arms length and me and the internet get along just fine.

I make a point of not posting anything outright saying where I live or how old I am,which is ironic considering I gave a detailed physical description of myself on a thread I made about describing your self physically.

I'm sure any one obsessed enough could track down all my individual posts and through that infer information about me, but what would they want from me?

I'd be surprised if you could find out very much about me by looking at my profile....

So, no, I'm not worried.

I wouldn't be worrying about that, but, for the love of god, never type your social security number somewhere, or your personal address.

Oh yeah, if the government wants to find you - they'll find you.

Trust me.

Of course not! Haven't you heard? There are crazies on the interwebs!

But seriously, I don't post personal info that could lead to someone figuring out my identity anywhere on the internet, and I generally use different user names so no one can link my various accounts. I also use a few different emails. I'm just paranoid like that. >.>

I don't really care about it. I've just googled my name and all it comes up with on the front page is millions of profiles on War Cry sites, a Bebo profile in Spanish (I think) and a Bebo profile of a former band I was in. And thankfully none of those have any serious personal information about me, nothing like phone numbers or addresses. Closest thing it has is my hometown.
