I always say you could consider anything that is not a sport as geeky. So no I don't.

yeah, of course I hide it, it's not like I'm on the Escapist during school with my laptop screen visible to everyone xD

I see no use in hiding it, seeing how it is such a big freakin' part of me, that I'm more or less unable to hide xD

As my facebook bio says:

"I play Dungeons & Dragons. I play Chivalry & Sorcery. I play Magic: The Gathering. I am a living book of random facts. And I am an unapologetic nerd who enjoys speaking in pig latin. You got a problem with that?!"
Best Bio. Ever!

Well seeing as I am an astrophysicist, role-player, computer-player and star wars fan, then no.
I am what/who I am and that is that. I do not hide it but I usually doesn't declare it to the entire world (I am too shy for that).
This does not keep me from discussing/talking about it whenever the subjects come up though.

I try to hide them. Not because I'm actually embarrassed by it--I like what I like--but because nobody EVER knows what the hell I'm talking about. I try to avoid talking about anime and videogames and stuff because A) people think I'm weird enough even without doing that and B) I don't want to alienate people from conversations, 'cos that's rude.
I think it's rude to expect random ,or known poeple, to talk about stuff that's comfortable to you. If they don't share your intrests and are simply intolerant enought to get offended if you talk about somthing they don't know about, then why are they your friends?

I make D&D jokes in class, I laugh with my physics teacher and his horrible puns, and reference Sci Fi classics (Heinlein, Niven, Huxley, et al) and link to or reference all relevent TvTropes pages to whatever is being discussed. I spit in the face (not literally) to everyone that wants me to conform. Unfortunately, I live in a small town in the middle of Michigan, so just about everyone likes group mentality here.

I just usually don't bring it up in conversation with random people. "Hey! I'm Jake, and I REALLY like Mass Effect 2!" Yeah, no, that doesn't happen. But if someone asks a question specifically related to gaming, I'm more than happy to oblige.

It depends on the situation. If I'm hanging out with all my geek friends, then no, I don't. If I'm hanging around with people who've never seen a Sega Genesis before, then most likely, I'll try harder to not mention Mudkipz.

I hide it to an extent. It remain sobvious that I am a geek, but I don't start discussing the pros and cons of X unit/item from a Warhammer army that don't play it/haven't heard of it.

If I'm with un-nerdy people, I tone it down; but when I am with other geeks, I revert to my normal nerdosity.

In the past, I didn't hide it at all, but it occured to me that there's a time and place for letting my geekiness shine through after the college interviewer for MIT didn't get the Half-Life joke I made in the first 30 seconds of our conversation.

I am proud of my geekiness but it generally makes my friends uncomfortable as none of them are gamers are into random science facts like I am. I never deny being a geek but I generally don't make mario jokes or what have you.

Sometimes, yes. Depends with who I'm hanging out with.

I mean, most, if not all of my friends know that I'm into gaming and such, but I never talk about it with friends who don't game themselves.

No, I've made facebook statuses about games. I even just flat-out say "I'm a nerd". I see no reason to hide it really, if people poke fun at me I can just point at Bill Gates for an example of a nerd who has a great life.

I don't go around telling people, and making a big deal of it. But I don't care too much if my friends know how geeky I am. The only people who've ever given me stick about my geekish tendencies are my brother and dad, and they just make fun of it in the same way they do everything else (although my brother genuinely seems to dislike that side of me, whereas my dad just jokes around like he does with everyone else about stuff).

But yeah, I won't specifically go out of my way to hide it or reveal it. If my friends know then that's fine, as long as they don't look down on me for it (but if they do that then they're hardly real friends anyway). My new flat-mate attends a film-making society with me at university, for example, and my former housemates know I'm into video games and stuff, and was interested in joining the university Assassin's Guild (though admittedly they did see that in itself as kind of odd...)...
