I enjoy roleplaying and some geekier games, so yeah. That kind of stuff I try to hide. I wouldn't go out of my way to hide it though, I don't think.RootbeerJello said:I thought of this because I made some joke to my friend about Half-Life at soccer practice a few days ago, and he had a hissy fit because he didn't want the soccer team to know he knew shit like that. Of course, I on the other hand don't give a shit and in fact would like people to know what they're getting in to. That's probably part of why I play large-scale Magic: The Gathering games in public spaces. But I ramble. My question is, do any of you ever stop yourself from doing or saying things in regular conversation so that you won't be labeled as a geek?
same here, i know all this trivial crap that has little value in everyday life, but i would kick ass on a gameshow.gred said:No I'm not hiding my geekiness, in fact I'm the guy that harbors all the useless knowledge in the group.
Quantum physics joke? This is relevant to my interests!rabidmidget said:F*ck no, I go around wearing a shirt with a quantum physics joke, the only facet of geekdom I have yet to embrace is dungeons and dragons, and that would probably change the moment I meet someone who plays it.
Schrödinger yes, but not that one, it has "Schrödinger's cat is dead" on the front and "Schrödinger's cat is not dead" on the back, it leads to many explanations.Quaxar said:Quantum physics joke? Is it the one with Schrödinger and the speed limit?
OT: Hell no! I wear shirts with math jokes, IT jokes, physics jokes and Daleks (in a country that has no idea what "a Doctor Who" is).
I would probably be king of the local geeks, if there were any real ones.
