And while I do love Tom Baker, I have to say Matt Smith and Jon Pertwee are up there as well.
This.

It could be... interesting. I'll have to reserve judgement till there's more info.

I'm still going to go on it regardless.

I actually liked David Tennet to be honest. I would say careful about opinions in an objective news post.
You like David Tennant. That's an opinion.

Tom Baker is the best Doctor ever. That's a fact, baby.

Oh you bastard, you had me scouring my brain for that name. He's one of the old series doctors. That's why it didn't ring an immediate bell. I will admit he was a damned good doctor

I'm sorry, but Rowan Atkinson is the best Doctor.

The Tenth Doctor has been very popular amongst the Doctor Who fandom. In 2006, readers of Doctor Who Magazine voted Tennant's Doctor "Best Doctor" over perennial favourite Tom Baker.[17] He also won the National Television Awards award for Most Popular Actor in 2006 and 2007, and the award for Outstanding Drama Performance in 2008 and 2010. - Wikipedia Article "Tenth Doctor"

So, since it's on Wikipedia, it makes it a FACT! lol

Just kidding Andy. I'm a Tennant fan myself, but Tom Baker is the best Doctor of the Classic Series

Everyone will want to be the Doctor in this MMO, this game is unfortunately already broken.

As much as I want it to exist.

2. Why bait the Tenant/Eccleston/Smith fans? After all, the only polling that has been done on the question of best doctor found Tennant to be the fan favorite.
There are Eccleston fans?
I thought Eccleston was a fantastic Doctor, it a shame he only lasted one series.

I grew up with Doctor Who and I enjoy the new series . . . but I'm not sure if an MMO would really work. I can't see a Doctor Who MMO working without everyone having access to a TARDIS and if everyone has a TARDIS that seems like a mess waiting to happen.

I'll keep an eye out for news and if they've found a creative way of capturing the series without having a million rogue time lords running about but I'll admit my expectations are low.

Oh and the best Doctor was Sylvester McCoy.

RND? Wow, I'm impressed anybody remembers that - it was good though, wasn't it.

I hope 'Dalek bumps' are a costume option.

*sigh* I am going to get flamed but this just sounds boring and bad. Hopefully it won't but I am not holding my breath.

Doctor Who, for those who don't know, is a long-running BBC science fiction series that's been around since 1963 and has featured numerous actors in the lead role, the best of whom without question was Tom Baker.
WRONG!

David Tennant took the series to dizzying new heights with his portrayal of The Doctor. Seriously, "The End of Time", the episode where you find out who The Face of Beau is, pretty much the entire 4th season; David Tennant IS The Doctor!

I just saw this a couple months ago. I got interested in Stephen Moffet's career and stumbled upon CotFD. Pure genius.

You said it, it's that old humour that never gets old. At the time when it appeared on RND, I was sent to bed before the second part and agonised for years about how good it probably was before finally seeing it when the internet got it's act together and someone stuck it up on YouTube.

In fact, screw homework - I'm off to watch it again :)

That was my first thought, but Three Rings is some pretty smart people (Puzzle Pirates doesn't get remotely enough credit for finding a way to run an MMO that isn't "I CAN HAZ LEVELZ")

So I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised.

Every single player, even the girls, will try to make one of the canon Doctors as their pc, instead of thinkign up their own Time Lord. It will be hilarious to watch all the attempts to out do each other on who gets the closest to one of the TV Doctors and the arguments among the players on whose is more accurate.
I'd want to be a regular Time Lord so I could have one of those freaky hats. Or perhaps be the Castellan so I can holler about a mind probe.

(Man, I wish I could quote that mind probe scene from the parody "The All-Singing, All-Dancing Five Doctors Pro-Am Cabaret Extravaganza" but parts 7-10 seem to have fallen off the Internet. TIME TO UPLOAD!)

EDIT: Ah, here it is!

President: You are authorised to use.....the Mind Probe !!!

Doctor: No! No, not the Mind Probe!!!

(The Castellan gapes in surprise, then glowers at the Doctor.)

Castellan: You utter, utter git! That's *my* line! The best line in the entire story, and you just snaffled it! I paid good money for that line, and what happens? Some long-haired renegade vagabond wanders in and says it, right under my nose. I demand satisfaction!

(He throws down his glove, or, if no glove is available, his ocelot.)

President: (wearily) Oh, for God's sake let him say it, Doctor. Omega knows he's been practising for days. Go on then, Castellan. In your own time.

(The Castellan smirks at the Doctor. He gathers his lapels and prepares to deliver the immortal line. He opens his mouth to speak.)

Castellan: .........I've forgotten what it was.

I'm a big fan of Doctor Who myself, but I've learned not to trust the Doctor Who games, considering the Adventure games were abysmal. SO I don't think I'll get this, and if pressed I probably won't enjoy it.

For all those asking about if they have to pay for overseas access, give me one good reason why I,as a UK TV license payer (i.e. BBC funder), should pay for you to play for free?
