That left me with a foul taste in my mouth really. But I must say, I never liked the Cybermen (too much like the Daleks), but this does make them look more awesome. Quite impressive animation though, for a fan-made project, but I'll stick to the live action series thank you very much.

Also, on a not-so unrelated matter, does anyone else think that the new Doctor is just...bleeh?
He's from the Boy's School nearby...they won't shut up about it.

Also, as he IS from N.B.S. He is almost certainly gay...or into S&M

It's a weird school.

He'd be fine, but that fringe makes me want to burn him with fire. Hope he ends up dying because of something petty like a falling rock, he does not deserve any better

I'm an anime fan, but that was... too anime. It would be possible for them to make an animated Dr Who, and it would be possible to make it very good. The kind of thing to fill in the gap when you dont have enough Dr Who (which is frequently). The important thing is to be subtle, you know that thing that video isn't.

I hadn't seen the new doctor yet, and now I'm a little aprehensive. He better have some really interesting personality if he's ever going to come close to David Tennant or Tom Baker. But then, you get used to each version as they stick around

Also, to all the people who are suggesting that the psuedo naked girl in that vid is anime corrupting Dr Who seem to have forgotten all about Leela. Nuff said.

No. It'd be just as godawful as roughly 90% of the other anime out there. Anime is one of those genres where they will always play into the cliches because that's what their target audience wants, and if you genuinely want to see an anime-cliche-ridden Doctor Who, I worry for you.
Whilst Anime does give cliches it also gives imagination in turn; it presents ideas that we would've never been able to do in live action due to the laws of physics, the limitations of CGI and attempting to do so would clearly result in heavy dependance on poor special effects that are obviously faked. Anime doesn't need to worry about these limitations as such due to its medium and production and can do things we would never think of yet alone attempt to do in most other styles. Please explain to me how a castle which walks about on four legs [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howl%27s_Moving_Castle_(film)] or another, unknown planet which refers to Earth as the 'Mystic Moon' [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escaflowne] are cliche.

The Doctor will be regenerating for a tenth time in 2010, though Time Lords are said to only be able to regenerate a total of twelve times.
There are was around that. Check out the Master. Also, River Song said that the Doctor was devloping powers beyond what Time Lords are normally capable of, so that might include regenerations.

True. I just didn't want to give away any spoilers. Though perhaps when a series is 40 years old you don't have to worry about that anymore.

*cough* How much of all live-action TV is good? What percentage of music do you thoroughly enjoy? How many movies are good? I bet you anything it's less than 20% of the total existing population for each of those, and that percentage only goes down as more and more junk is produced. The majority of everything is crap. Saying that 90% of something is bad is meaningless - of course it is.

It would indeed be possible to make an incredibly well done Dr Who anime. This guy isn't the guy to do it. What he's done is incredible in its own right, but would probably not be a fantastic Dr Who reimagining. Check out the Iron Man anime trailer. It looks awesome.

Conversely, the Wolverine one is just nasty. So it all depends on the implementation and execution; to cast a blanket over an entire medium (and I do consider anime to be separate to live-action TV), calling it pointless, derivative and clichéd is just silly.

Gah, you guys give much hate. There are flaws, yes, but a professionally written and animated Doctor Who anime would be just excellent.

And given that this guy is working alone on this, it's pretty goddamn impressive.

You have absolutely no idea just how cheesy and cliche Doctor Who actually is, do you?

You poor, poor man.

i have to say that clip was interesting..........the fact that the Japanese have MLRS's is highly unlikely and why don't they just get some of the country's government employed hackers to send them a virus like "independence day".

OP: no i prefer the real life british made show.

Pretty good for a fan project, but I wouldn't watch an actual full-length thing like this. The art style is a bit of an eyesore (the shading and stuff like that, I mean).

And just a note on the artstyle and "Otaking:" I've read a rant he made about modern anime art supposedly being crap because it doesn't have five-tone shading. To say the least he's rather elitist when it comes to artstyle.

Personally I just hope he can act the part, didnt knew who the new doctor was gonna be, and I dont like the way he looks in my opinion.
As for the anime short, looks ok considering it was made by one person from what I read in other posts, but I personally didnt liked the art style of most of the clip.
Good work none the less.

This was made years ago, being the big fan of the show I am I think the clips could've done without the surprisingly bouncy drawn breasts that so commonly plague most animes (Not saying it's a bad thing, and I am not gay, but it's a bit out of place for something relative to doctor who, and kind of sad when you realize it's just drawn on some paper)

Um, what?

That was weird. But OK. Nice to see that the Doctor has some freaks behind it.

Ah... so this got finished. I recognise this as being made by the animator of the free horror game White Chamber.

What in the hell was that!?!?

That looked less like Doctor Who and more like a Japanophile vomiting onto a pile of scrap metal.

hummm... can't realy judge it on a 90second clip. Maybe if it was a hole episode i would be able to lay down a judgement.
