Doctor Who Re-Imagined in Kick-Ass Anime Form

To keep the thread on topic...woah. Holy Gundam Sydney Newman Jesus.
The clips out there on the net are slightly schitzophrenic with story right now, but perhaps it's for the better. While I can praise the animation and the ideas going around, the soundbites seem to break it a bit. For a fan project, this is amazing work, you couldn't have asked for Classic Who to be handled in a better way in the hands of a fan - and I've seen some pretty bad examples of this.

...It's not working for me. The art itself is great, but the animation feels cheap and shoddy. I know people disagree with me, but that's what my instincts are telling me. The Doctor himself is passable to me, but the Cybermen look like Transformers (in my mind, that should not be), and the companion is generic anime fanservice. Couldn't they have come up with a character design that was more distinctive?
