I like it alot. It is rather enjoyable, but there are certainly some flaws with it that much as other people have said are the result of being pushed out entirely too early.

My gripes do not seem to coincide with the consensus. Even though it is improved I am honestly unimpressed with the combat. Its even more repetitive and easy than DAOs. Also I still cannot stand the logic behind refusing to add in 360 game pad support for the PC version. Given that it is on consoles it requires absolutely no additional effort to mirror the 360s control pad layout. I can get over it because it is simple enough to map it to a gamepad via xpadder. And in before the PC elitists say " if your playing on PC why would you use anything other than a keyboard and mouse?" Ill say that even with the "enhanced" pc controls, I can map it to the game pad and never have to touch the keyboard or mouse, so what is the point of enhanced controls if they are not needed? Also, mapping it in such a way shows how easy it is and turns the game into a single button mashing event.

Beyond that, I still am not impressed with some of the throwaway chars. Aveline and Varric in particular. Honestly Varric is crucial to the narrative but really does not add much as a playable toon other than the equivalent of a narrator. Aveline is pretty much useless in my personal estimation and has the personality of a whetstone.

Beyond that the statistical char development is an improvement over DAO. The story is fairly solid and I absolutely love the change in art direction (just wish they had a way of explaining the Quns appearance change. Perhaps Sten from DAO was a female Qunari?)

It is a great game, and a worthy enough addition to Biowares dating sim franchise.

I love it. Seriously. I mean, I love the last one, but this one's narrative is fantastic and I feel so much more for Hawke than the Warden, for one reason. They have a voice.
I do really like it- it's not perfect, but it's good.

I haven't played DA2 yet. I heard allot about it and I played the Demo of course.

I am still busy with DA:O. I am slow.. slowpoooke! Really I have played very few games to the end in my life. And yes I already have a few sequels in house that are still in the box..mmm :!

But well for what I pick up it has been improved on some areas and made smoother. But also this might have lead to losing some things some fans loved. The idea of going into the same locale/cave again and again for different reasons... mmm they could have given it another 6 months I guess to make more locales!

So far I read and seen I can't call DA2 terrible.

People only pull out this logical fallacy as damage control. Come on.

It's weird how people manage to post and praise most well-received games, but the ones that are controversial, disputed, or mediocre need such special attention that the silence can only mean the full attention of the player.

On my second playthru now, almost at the end of act 1. Played an evil/snarky female dual-blade rogue for the first one and had a lot of fun with her. Currently playing a goodie-two shoes male mage and seeing how that will go.

My criticisms are generally minor...some balance issues, a handful of bugs (don't know how such simple ones could make it past QA), some fights go on too long, some ability cooldowns are too long and the DLC gear is pretty poor. Would've also preferred if they'd allowed us to equip companions as we did in DAO, a toolset (or at least an update to the existing one) and one major criticism...the seemingly copy/pasted instances. Were the devs too lazy to make more than one cave map, one mansion map, one tunnel map or one wilderness map?

This game strikes me as being much more like Baldur's Gate II in its scope. Probably the biggest reason BGII is immortalised is because of Athkatla...a huge, living, breathing city with so much going on. The interactions between companion NPCs (like Viconia and Kheldon) give life to the characters and DAII, much more so than Origins has that same scope. With Aveline and Isabella both in your party for example, almost any decision made will earn the respect of one at the expense of the rivalry of the other. It's not perfect, perhaps not even up to BW's usual standard and there's clearly an element of "consolisation" of the game but it is definitely worth a pick up and play.

I actually really liked it and cant seem to understand what all constant criticism is really about. Most of the reviews i have read say it because the gameplay is too easy, or its too linear or its not like origins.
I am hoping for the continuation of this series though, despite what others may say.

I'm loving it. It has some restrictions on the classes (can't make a dual wielding mage) and the dungeon and mansion interior is just copy paste is everywhere; but the characters are complex, making you question whether you want to be friends with them or rivals, the combat is more fast paced and flows amazingly and the game has some much needed detail to help give a distinct and fantasy look to everything not human

I love it. The combat is a bit wonky at times and it gets damn frustrating in the second act, but the story and dialogue are very well written.

Is the text size during the demo reflective of the game as a whole?

Love it and am planning to start play #2 right after dinner. I get what some of the hate is about (recycled dungeons, not enough change in Kirkwall over the course of the game, ending that doesn't totally close the story), but most of it just comes across as "zomg, they changed it so it suxxxx!!1!" to me.

I loved it. I loved it so much! one of the first games in a while that was legitimately fun to play, and had an amazing story. It just was not what pepole expected.

Likely the worst Bioware game ever. Still better than almost every other game on the market. Played through it two times, will go for a third run after I play through Origins/Awakening again. I would like if the game had a longer dev cycle, it's a bit of a rush job. Still awesome, though...

DA:O is my favorite game, period. Does that mean I was disappointed with the sequel? Of course. Does that make it a bad game? Not at all. I like the alterations to the combat mechanics since I am forced to play on consoles. I like that it spans 10 years and you feel a bit more of the fallout of your previous choices. On a minor note I like the fact that I can't get into a huge conversations with party members in the combat areas (I would try and pick up elfroot and it felt like every time I did I would get tricked into talking to Wynne again).

On the reverse side though, I do feel the framed narration sort of drags you through the story in a way other Bioware games haven't. I didn't care about any of the characters the way I did in the first one. Finally the environments really do feel redundant after a while.

I like the game, I'm playing through my second time now. However I think most of us seem to like and expect a more epic and spanning story from Bioware and this simply isn't it. I think the large amount of hate the game is getting is from either the people who want to find fault because of the large amounts of love thrown at the developers or people who were disappointed with the direction the sequel went. Neither are wrong, I love seeing COD developers land on their face. It just seems to be difficult to judge this game for what it is as opposed to what there already has been.

Just beat it last night and despite a few little things I wish they had kept from the first game I still enjoyed it a lot.

Yes! and it sucks. I hate that developers all think we have 70 inch plasma tv's lying around. Origins had that problem too as well though for me.

PS- hey Captcha, whats a flavonoid? sounds yummy.

The game is great, the only reason people are complaining is because

1- you're not able to choose your race. Boo hoo it was barely ever mentioned

2- You're not the character from the previous title. I think this is a good thing, that story is over and you're onto another persons tale. Which is an excellent idea, it's not so much a sequel now as it is a telling of a story that happened in the same universe. (I didn't beat the game so don't go telling me something happens and then you find out that this is that bla bla bla)

The only complaint I can muster is the bullshit behind the game, but that has nothing to do with the game so it's awesome

It felt like there was a great pc game inside, however it had been consoled up a bit too much..
So I'd say it was okay not great just okay, unlike the first which was a power house of an epic(except the ending) which I have played for 200 hours(about 7 days) according to steam.

But then again DA:O is nothing compared to Baldurs Gate 2 + exp so maybe its just bioware going downhill I don't know, what I do know is that DA2 did not have the DND feel to it which DA:O at least had.
