I like it alot. It is rather enjoyable, but there are certainly some flaws with it that much as other people have said are the result of being pushed out entirely too early.
My gripes do not seem to coincide with the consensus. Even though it is improved I am honestly unimpressed with the combat. Its even more repetitive and easy than DAOs. Also I still cannot stand the logic behind refusing to add in 360 game pad support for the PC version. Given that it is on consoles it requires absolutely no additional effort to mirror the 360s control pad layout. I can get over it because it is simple enough to map it to a gamepad via xpadder. And in before the PC elitists say " if your playing on PC why would you use anything other than a keyboard and mouse?" Ill say that even with the "enhanced" pc controls, I can map it to the game pad and never have to touch the keyboard or mouse, so what is the point of enhanced controls if they are not needed? Also, mapping it in such a way shows how easy it is and turns the game into a single button mashing event.
Beyond that, I still am not impressed with some of the throwaway chars. Aveline and Varric in particular. Honestly Varric is crucial to the narrative but really does not add much as a playable toon other than the equivalent of a narrator. Aveline is pretty much useless in my personal estimation and has the personality of a whetstone.
Beyond that the statistical char development is an improvement over DAO. The story is fairly solid and I absolutely love the change in art direction (just wish they had a way of explaining the Quns appearance change. Perhaps Sten from DAO was a female Qunari?)
It is a great game, and a worthy enough addition to Biowares dating sim franchise.
