Last night was friday night, didn't go to bed till 1am, and so now it's 6:30am Saturday morning and I'm suppose to be at work in twenty minutes. And I know I should be used to it, but it's hard getting used to a schedule when work is eratic about which shifts you work. Sometimes it's 7am, other times it's 9am, or 11am, and sometimes just to really try and mess ya' up, it'll be something like 8:30am. What the hell? Hate retail!
My senior year of high school, I worked at McDonald's. Yes, that does suck. First, I worked a lot after school. 3 days a week, I had to leave school at 3:30 and be at work by 4:00. Every Friday, I was supposed to get off at 10:00, but it was closer to midnight, sometimes later like 1:00 AM.

Then, on Saturday, I'd be in at 6:00 AM. Yeah, you read that right. I was supposed to get off at 2:00 PM, but that never happened. They never had anyone there to replace me till 3:00 at the earliest. And even then, I'd have to stay to do the dishes because it makes perfect sense to have the guy in drive-thru (alone) clean the morning dishes. Most days, I didn't get off till 4:00 or 5:00 PM. I'd get home, walk in the door and crash on the couch. Then work the same shift Sunday.

In case you're curious, I usually worked about 37 hours a week, though I was scheduled for far less.

My father once said that if you enjoy your job you're either deluded or not working hard enough o.o
Hehe, I love it!

Retail... I actually would love my job, even though I'm NOT a people person, but my management and scheduling issues make it impossible. The number one thing I hate most is knowing more about my job than my bosses, yet having to go by thier directions. Second would be working with incompetence for the same pay yet when they screw up, it's okay cause it's expected, but if I was to make a mistake, my head would be put through the ringer!

It's sad when the worst customer is still a hell of a lot less frustrating than the best manager. :p
