Can you back up your claims? What does Fortresscraft have that Minecraft doesn't? Compare and contrast the two.Samechiel said:Can't we just be satisfied that Fortresscraft will never be Minecraft, and Minecraft will always be Minecraft. Fortresscraft is a cheap ripoff of Minecraft now, but may change to be something better, but for $3 a download, it probably won't.
Can't we just be satisfied that Minecraft will never have the potential of FortressCraft, and will always just be Minecraft? Fortresscraft is a higher-quality version of Minecraft now, but is very rapidly being developed into something way better -and for only $3 a download, who can resist?
I think the modding community alone will make Minecraft better than Fortresscraft.Composer said:=_= minecraft isnt even done yet!
and besides, its easier to customize
i bet ur gonna havta pay for texturepacks on this console version
and this guy is calling copywrite infringment insignifigant?
My computer wasn't built for gaming, it was built for school. 248MB of RAM and a graphics card that doesn't support pixel acceleration.C.S.Strowbridge said:How is that possible? Are you connecting to the internet with an abacus? My nephew got it to run on my parents computer, and that things 8 years old. It's 8 years old, and it was never a powerhouse computer.Xyphon said:Would absolutely love for it to come to the PS3 since my PC can't run Minecraft.
Such claims have no real backup. Mojang has big plans for the future of minecraft I'm sure, they ripped it off far too early, and it will never have the following minecraft has.C.S.Strowbridge said:Can you back up your claims? Yes! Yes I did. I had a lovely time, thank you for asking.did you enjoy yourself?
Actually, that's exactly what Projector Games intends FortressCraft to be. You build a fortress to protect yourself, and orcs and goblins start showing up to kill you and take your loots. So you, in turn, have to build workshops and set up rooms to attract minions to craft for you, toil in your mines, and fight your foes. Eventually, you're commanding legions of dwarves and shit against invading armies of demons from atop your battlements while ballistae bolts soar overhead.I mean.. if it was actually FORTRESS craft where you have to build a fortress of sorts to deal with assaults, that'd be epic.
Exactly... it took the central idea of other games and re worked them into new and interesting ways, which isn't a bad way to design games... taking concepts that have worked well before and playing with them to improve the game as a whole... but from everything I've heard for Fortresscraft, it just took Minecraft, gave it better graphics and and away they went... and saying that Fortresscraft was inspired by Minecraft implies that they did some actual work of their own which doesn't seem to be the case... it's more akin top stealing someones car and selling it back to them for 1/3 the price with a new paint job...xHipaboo420x said:Because Minecraft wasn't just an Infiniminer clone.
Psssh. Don't you know anything? Once a game is released, that's it. There can be no other games like it ever.Azaraxzealot said:now, this guy is being very reasonable. people who are getting mad at projector games for releasing a minecraftian game on consoles shouldn't be so pissed.
Exactly. Something like two thirds of games pre-1983 were merely rewritten ports of games such as Centipede and Asteroids coded by amateurs, and what harm did that cause anything?Sacman said:Exactly... it took the central idea of other games and re worked them into new and interesting ways, which isn't a bad way to design games... taking concepts that have worked well before and playing with them to improve the game as a whole... but from everything I've heard for Fortresscraft, it just took Minecraft, gave it better graphics and and away they went... and saying that Fortresscraft was inspired by Minecraft implies that they did some actual work of their own which doesn't seem to be the case... it's more akin top stealing someones car and selling it back to them for 1/3 the price with a new paint job...
Did they do anyhing wrong? only from an artistic standpoint...
Should they be sued? of course not that's stupid...<.<
I still don't see the appeal. Then again I'm not into AI minionsSamechiel said:Actually, that's exactly what Projector Games intends FortressCraft to be. He's a video showing a very early test of the mob system. It uses 2D dwarves as placeholders, but it's still pretty neat.
Actually yes... yes it can... if everyone started buying Fortresscraft instead of Minecraft Notch could potentially run out of funding and the project would remain unfinished... plus even if the money doesn't effect it's development then the popularity could potentially ruin the community by lowering the amount of people playing...<.<Azaraxzealot said:And why do you want to not let console gamers enjoy what you enjoy? it makes no sense, it's not like us playing a DIFFERENT GAME is going to ruin Minecraft for you >:|
FortressCraft has its own systems and world and characters and enemies that have nothing to do with Minecraft so it is not a rip-off.seditary said:This was just lol.Azaraxzealot said:If Dragon Age is not a rip-off of Dungeons and Dragons, if Medal of Honor is not a rip-off of Call of Duty, if Duke Nukem is not a rip-off of Wolfenstein, then FortressCraft is not a rip-off of Minecraft.
Dragon Age has its own systems and world and characters and enemies that have nothing to do with D&D so is not a rip-off. Medal of Honor came out before Call of Duty so it is not a rip-off. Duke Nukem has different world, characters, weapons and enemies from Wolfenstein so it is not a rip-off. FortressCraft is the same as Minecraft except for a few extra bits in it?
