As long as they are spread out well its not a lot. The ones I hate are when there is a cut scene, you take three steps, and have another cut scene.

As long as all of those 103 minutes aren't in one big scene, that's totally cool. I don't mind longer cutscenes in my games, and knowing DA, it'll be more like a bunch of little 2-5 minute cutscenes spread out over the entire game.

and then there's also the dialogue parts
on top of the 103 minutes of cutscenes
and if you think of all the different ways you can play a dragon age game
oh man Bioware works their voice actors
this makes me happy

Halo 2 had 50 minutes worth, and it was one of the main vehicles for story progression. It is a mode of story development I very much approve of. (And yes Halo 2 was the best of the series.)

As long as I can PAUSE the cutscenes, I'm game. It's such a simple, useful UI decision, I can't believe more developers don't do it.

Nothing worse than trying to get the gist of the story and pay attention to your wife trying to tell you something at the same time.

103 minutes of cutscenes? That could be like 1 minute cutscenes every half hour. Since its Bioware most people probably won't even notice it :

103 minutes??? I hope they realize that isn't a great selling point? For every single one of those minutes there had better be at least 10 minutes of gameplay.
I hear what John Funk is saying about not everything having to be interactive, but if I just wanted to watch a well CGI'd movie I'd go rent a Pixar film or one of those Dreamworks CG animated films, but if I'm sitting down to play a video game that means I want an interactive experience. I want to participate in the story, not just sit back and watch! Now I realize that cutscenes are often necessary, but if the amount of cutscene exceeds the amount of gameplay you've got a serious problem. I figure an appropriate ratio (in minutes) should be at least 10:1. That's 10 minutes of gameplay for every minute of cutscene. So if your game has 103 minutes of cutscene, there had better be 1030 minutes of frickin' gameplay!

So, it's basically the equivalent of half of the MGS4 cutscenes. I can handle that.

Man, the game file is gonna be so large. I think I'll have to buy an extra hard drive if I'm going to buy it for the PC, because I don't have much storing space left.

I love drawn out cut scenes. I also like immersive rpgs. I think this game will satisfy my urge to put the controller down and relax every now and then.

That's not so much for a 40-60 hour game. I like a little bit of cutscenes. For example, the Battle of Ostagar had some nicely done ones. If they are little moments like that, then I'm for it. But as long as the game doesn't feel out of my hand too much, then I'm cool with it.

And dialogue sections don't count as cutscenes. You're still making choices then, and possibly changing the story. At the very least, you're developing your character. A cutscene takes the game out of the player's hands completely.

Since it's BioWare most people won't notice the cutscenes? Biased much?
What do you mean by Biassed?

I ment that since its Bioware, they will probably do a good job with the story, etc, and most people will be to interesting in the story, etc to care that they're spending 'a lot' of time watching cutscenes :p
