Another reason why Dragon Age 2 sucked balls compared to Origins.NotALiberal said:Eh, I'll pass on yet another simplistic GOOD/BAD "moral choice" system game by Bioware. After playing the Witcher series, I legitimately cannot play Bioware games anymore.
Look, it was understandable in Star Wars (KOTOR), the Star Wars universe is renowned (read: mocked) for it's good vs evil conflict, and Jade Empire I could forgive, but for god's sake learn to write stories that have more depth than "HURR HURR I AM AN EVIL DOUCHE BAG" or "I WILL PROTECT THE INNOCENT AND VANQUISH EVEEEEEL!!1!1".
Okay, maybe DA3 won't be quite so ba...DustyDrB said:Different possible backgrounds for the player character.
Urgghhh...DustyDrB said:The player character is human
If they're gonna force some of the plot choices on us, I don't believe for one second they're gonna keep the Morrigan ending in DAO as canon. Likely use the Lohgain ending as canon, so they can justify Alister showing his dumb face up in Orlais after his self banishment.Aiddon said:I still wanna know where the heck they're going to go with Flemeth, Morrigan, andsub plot.the Old God child
Anyway, I'll need something a bit more substantial for DA3 so hopefully I see more. I get the feeling the Darkspawn are going to take a back seat for awhile as the Mage-Templar War rips the continent to shreds. I wouldn't be surprised if DA4 is going to be the Grey Wardens having to tell everyone to stop killing each other while another Blight is on the horizon.
Yes, but it still rail roaded you into "Good", "Neutral", and "Evil" conversation "choices"Amaror said:Another reason why Dragon Age 2 sucked balls compared to Origins.NotALiberal said:Eh, I'll pass on yet another simplistic GOOD/BAD "moral choice" system game by Bioware. I loved the fact that Origins had no moral choice system.
They make decent enough RPG's, but why they're hailed as "OMG BIOWARE NERDGASM" is beyond me. Their games are nothing more than somewhat (sometimes, see Dragon Age II) above average RPG's with extremely simplistic story telling. There is no depth to them, but I will concede they can still be entertaining. Honestly though, it's 20-Fucking-12, there is no excuse for the 1990's "morality" system they still use.SmashLovesTitanQuest said:I still find them enjoyable, it just rubs me the wrong way when Bioware gets praised for their moral choice system. It's not 1995 anymore, having a morality meter and multiple quest endings in an RPG is nothing special.NotALiberal said:Eh, I'll pass on yet another simplistic GOOD/BAD "moral choice" system game by Bioware. That's the thing about concept art; It always looks snazzy. Everything does on paper.DustyDrB said:I think the concept art looks pretty snazzy.
That's kind of what I was trying to imply with the next sentence. But I do remember not liking much of the DA2 concept art. Though a lot of that was them really trying to sell us on the redesigned Darkspawn, which still look awful to me.Casual Shinji said:That's the thing about concept art; It always looks snazzy. OT: At this point I'd be happy if the game simply allowed me to role-play. Remember that, Bioware? But seeing as we're locked into the human role I doubt we'll be getting the same breath that Origins had.

Well, they were going for that whole pre perspective art style which really didn't work for the DA setting.DustyDrB said:That's kind of what I was trying to imply with the next sentence. Kinda agree, Ander's sucks.... everything!GSP66 said:David Gaider isn't a bad writer (even though Ander's bullshit at the end of DA2 will go down in history as one of the most BS plot twists ever, alongside everyone killing themselves in the Happening was caused by plant farts) if anything the writing in DA2 was solid it was just that the charecters and setting were bland and uninteresting.
At least DMC is fun to play.krazykidd said:Dragon age is a trilogy right ? So i can buy this one , be disappointed and never buy one again ( like DMC , halo , mass effect , etc...)? So i'll buy this to complet the trilogy , but this is biowares last chance .
