Othelio (the guy in the background, btw), a City Elf Rogue. I'm trying to roleplay him as being really angry at humans for dominating the Elves. He's not really evil, but if any human gives him any crap, he dishes back worse. He idolizes the Dalish Elves - I'm hoping for some interesting rp opportunities when I play the part where you try to recruit them against the Blight.

I wonder if many people did the racist elf thing. I made my character slightly biased, but not exactly hateful, not after adventuring outside the Alienage for while anyway... Although there still was a quite high casualty rate among people who messed with the Alienage...

Don't think you can really make city elves idolize the Dalish though, I'm afraid. In fact, there seemed to be an overlook in at least one major dialogue tree during that quest which made the game act like your character were human.
Things like that happen a couple times in the game. Pretty much completely breaks the immersion for the scenes in question...

It's not exactly as bad as Yahtzee said it is - as in random NPC sometimes calling you "an elf" without the game ever really caring what you play as, but it's true that most of the time your character's race is not really noted at all.

Thats awesome, before my game got fragged, I had a Elf that I wanted to make a Ranger/Duelist(She was Dalish to better fit the Ranger class) But I tried to make her a Ranger and the game wouldnt do it!

I bought the book early right before lvl 8, took alot of grinding to get the 15gold for it that early, and it wouldnt unlock the class. Check this I unlocked the Bard class at lvl 13, loaded my game back to when I was lvl 8 and Bard was still unlocked but Ranger was not.

Is their another way to get Ranger without the book, is thier a special time whne your supposed to open it? Please any info would help so my next playthrough can run smooth.

There's an alternative way to get the Ranger class, i think. If I'm not mistaken you have to complete some quest in the Dalish camp (not the one you start in, one after Ostegard). Think its the one where you have to help an elf hunter find his missing wife.

Check any walkthrough to confirm it and for more information.

I got the collectors edition stratgey guide and the only way it said was through that book.
