Yep, they put too much work and effort into the game. It sucks because there is so much to do. I think it would have been better if the Dev team had done less work on the thing.

Your question makes as much sense as the above.

This.

If a game has a lot of content, isn't that good? Would you like to have 2 hour RPG?

Hell no.

Morrowind/Oblivion, now those where games with too much to do. Dragon Age doesn't hold anything compared to the amount of things you can do in them.

You're complaining because you're getting good value for your money? Seriously?

If only all games provided such quantity of content at such a high standard of quality.

I *LIKE* it being this big.
I've seen so many gamers ***** and whine that dragon age is too long. What the hell is this world coming to? I feel justified spending 60 dollars on 60 hours of entertainment. When a game is 6 hours for a playthrough I feel that's just a god damn rip off.

Yes there is, of course, the notion of getting repetitive but I never found dragon age to do so.

I normally hate responses like this but... 'I see what you did there'

And how exactly can a game ever be too big? The more you get for your money the better right? I certainly hate it when a 50 buck game takes me only 10 hours to finish, especially if it has little to no replay value. I love Bioware games for this. They're usually decent length and the storyline, moral choices and companions make them fairly replayable.

So you're wondering if it's bad that you got more than your Money's worth?

I can understand wanting something to play that doesn't require too much dedication to Finish, some people are quite busy and don't have time to sink +20 Hrs just to scratch the Surface, but you just check the average required playtime to finish it, and get a different game if it's too long.

So no, I do not think it's too big.

No. I think it's just the right length. This is meant to be a RPG Fantasy Epic. The point is that you can craft your own character and go through the world how you want. And that's not going to happen if all you're doing is skipping down a corridor murdering everything in sight, in a typical 5 or so hour release. Because then the only Character differences are Violent Murderer Who feels a little bit sorry about what he's done or Violent Murderer who Teabags the corpses.

Dragon Age is supposed to be story rich as well, the amount of Codex entries proving this, and you need suitable length to get across all the various plot lines. It also gives you a chance to properly get to know, and like, the supporting characters because they actually get a decent amount of screen-time as well as a deep backstory. And when I found myself slashing a bandit leader to death with little regard for my health because he just killed one of my friends, in this case Alistair, then you know the chaps at Bioware are doing their job right.

I get all of the "How can you say having a lot of content is a bad thing?" statements, but, on the flip side, one of the major reasons I've stayed away from this game (and loathe Oblivion with every inch of my being) is that, when there's so much stuff to do, everything that you DO do is so utterly inconsequential that you've made little to no impact on the game. With so much to do, I find it crippling to even pick a direction to head or much less tackle the story.

I like that there's a ton of stuff to do, but, honestly, with so much to consider, I spend more time thinking about the possibilities than I do playing the actual game.

Hmm, I always though Dragon Age was too small, partly because it isn't a sandbox. As mentioned, Oblivion and more recently Just Cause 2, those are just plain huge games. I never felt like exploring in DA:O. Sure, I did most of the sidequests, but never could bring myself to just go off to wander around and discover new things. Made me sad, so little incentive.

How is having 50+ hours of non repetitive content a bad thing? Best thing is it feels like almost everything you do contributes to world in some way. This is how long a $50 game should be!

I was very disappointed when DA:O ended. It "only" took about 50-60 hours or so, even though I did all the quests I could find, spending a lot of time exploring dialogue options and such. It's definitely one of the best games I've played, and I wish it lasted longer. But it's great value for the money, I can't understand how you think it's too long.

I played dragon age the whole way through on 2 sessions. After I had a feeling of being content. Like the past hours had made me think about my actions and how they could affect others. I feel the game was just right in length.

If you dont like length and a rewarding story perhaps god of war 3 is more your sort of thing?

No, no it is not too big. If anything, it was not large enough. The game could have been twice as long as it ended up being and I would have enjoyed every single minute of it!

Also I hasten to point out that the % completed number is referring to how many of the achievements you've completed, not how far you're actually into the story. I finished with that number around 50% for example.

This, I have played both of them on and off since they came out, and I will still be wandering around minding my own business when I will find something new to do.
